Goals • Provide a first class batting and pitching training facility to support all TPLL teams with the following capabilities: • Safe enclosed 70 foot batting cages, divisible into small segments • Enclosed pitching facility with adjustable mounds to support all levels of play • External T and soft toss stations • External bullpen stations with adjustable mounds to support all levels of play • Useable immediately after inclement weather • Capable of supporting more than one team at a time

Objective Design Capabilities • Two identical 70 ft batting/pitching cages • Chain link fence sides and top • 70 ft net ( 70’ X 14 ‘ X 12’) • Artificial turf floor over compacted base • Movable (shower curtain) divider nets (15’/55’ and 35’/35’) • Pitching machine • Movable practice mound • Two batting mats and vinyl backstops • Two identical external batting stations • T/soft toss batting station with batting mat and vinyl backstop • Artificial turf over compacted base (15’ X 10’) • Two identical bullpen stations • Bullpen with moveable practice mound (42 ft, 46 ft, 50 ft, 60 ft) • Artificial turf over compacted base (6’X 30’)

What Will it Take? • Money • Phase 1 $30,200 • Phase 2 $29,250 -- $36,150 • Manpower • Leadership (Patrick) • Project manager (Brian) • 20-30 man-days of hard labor (Dads, Moms, Kids) • Tools/Equipment • Dump truck and driver • Pickup truck • Compactor • Sod cutter • Bobcat skid steer (maybe) • Wheelbarrows • Rakes, shovels, hammers

Where Do We Stand? • Phase 1 • Awaiting RUSD School Board approval (May 16) • Money looks good • Chain link fencing contractor standing by • Turf source identified • Additional equipment/supplies available from multiple vendors • Need manpower to install turf and nets • Phase 2 • Money needs to raised • Pad expansion design complete • Equipment source identified • Need trucks to move pad materials and equipment • Need manpower to construct pads, install turf and nets

  9. What Are the Risks? • RUSD will own the cages • Money not available to complete • Loss of leadership • Loss of momentum once baseball season ends • Annual maintenance • Electrical power for more than one pitching machine

  10. What Else Would We Like To Do? Granada Field • Fix up dugouts • Roof • Screening • Outfield windscreen • Clean/paint backstop • Paint storage containers • Open snack bar • Dress up bleachers and picnic area Strawberry Field • Install turf in batting cages • Install divider curtains to split cages • Add adjustable pitching mounds • Add vinyl backstops in both ends of each cage
