  2. To implement web Trns•port… Get Ready - license, change management, system upgrades, data clean-up In the Gate - configuration/customizations analysis The Race Is On - install, migrate data, configure, train, test Home Stretch - parallel test, user training Finish Line - go into production

Get Ready • License • Acquire web Trns•port licensefrom AASHTO (no additional $ if you already license) • 2 Service Units provided forWeb Trns•port Preconstruction effort • Applies to the initial production release • To be used within timeframe set by the TTF • For implementation services (e.g., installation, data migration, customizations)

  4. Get Ready • Change Management • Prepare your agency forimplementation of the new system • Keep users and management informed aboutprogress and critical dates

Get Ready • System Upgrades • Upgrade Client/Server Trns•port products to the latest release • Upgrade supporting software (e.g., Oracle) • Acquire appropriate web Trns•port hardware/software • Hardware/software requirements are located at http://www.cloverleaf.net/Select Products/Supported Versions and System Specifications

  6. Get Ready • Data • Pass awarded contracts toBAMS/DSS • Consider deleting awarded contractsresiding in PES/LAS • Clean up reference data • Determine used but obsolete codes, items, vendorsand set obsolete flag • Delete invalid and unused codes, items, vendors, and other reference data

  7. In the Gate • Inventory Customizations • Analyze PES/LAS customizationsand configurations • Reports • Interfaces • Plug-ins • Screen formats • Metadata • System configurations (line numbering, uppercase, etc.) • Security

The Race Is On • System Customizations • Modify web Trns•port base reportsas needed • Rewrite RTF customized reports,interfaces, etc. (AR Report Designer tool is supported in Web Trns•port ) • Test non-RTF customizations for compatibility with web Trns•port and adjust as needed • Apply customizations to web Trns•port • Write customized documentation if needed

  17. The Race Is On • Training • Train core group of testers onweb Trns•port • Train universe of users after system testing and closer to the time they will use web Trns•port

The Race Is On • Testing • Create a web Trns•port test planappropriate for your agency (including interfaces betweenTrns•port systems and non-Trns•port systems) • Perform web Trns•port testing according to test plan • Compare PES/LAS and web Trns•port Preconstruction report output results on identical projects/proposals • Adjust as needed and retest

  19. Home Stretch • Parallel Testing • Run PES/LAS and web Trns•portPreconstruction in parallel for several lettings • Run CRLMS and agency legacy processes in parallel • Compare results from both systems • Adjust as needed and retest

  20. Finish Line • Go Into Production • Train all users • Turn off PES/LAS and/or agency legacy systems and processes • Pat yourselves on the back! Get new picture
