  1. VHS – Virtual High School at Nashoba Valley Technical High School

  2. Overview of Student Orientation Welcome to the Virtual High School! You are part of a special group of students taking NetCourses online with classmates and teachers across the United States, and around the world!

  3. Timeline for Completing the Student Orientation You will complete this orientation at your own pace, but it shouldn't take more than five hours to complete. You do *not* have to complete the orientation in one sitting. It is required prior to starting your course.

  4. Ways to Get Help

  5. Asking questions of your teacher and Site Coordinator is probably one of the most helpful methods of getting the information you need to succeed in VHS. You're going to have lots of questions on lots of different topics. Whatever the topic, if you have a question, ask!

  6. Getting Help From Your Teacher Questions about assignments in your course always go to your teacher. Remember to make your questions to your teacher as specific and detailed as possible. Go to Discussions and post your question in the Questions forum.

  7. Don't be shy about asking questions of your teacher. Others probably have the same questions! • Remember that email is *not* the way to ask routine questions of your teacher. Keep those questions inside of the course, and save email for emergencies. • Reminder: Unlike in your face-to-face class, you won't get an immediate response from your teacher. Always give yourself time to await a response from your teacher. Try not to wait until the last minute.

  8. Please let Ms. Clooney know as soon as possible if your teacher does not respond within 24 hours.

  9. Students can also submit helpdesk tickets! The ticket will be triaged to the appropriate staff member and answered promptly during normal business hours: http://service.goVHS.org

  10. Last but not least, contact VHS Administration if you get no resolution from any of the other areas. The phone number for Virtual High School is 978-897-1900.
