  1. Welcome To: OpenO&M™ Initiative Open Operations & MaintenanceInteroperability Demonstration IMC 2004 Open Information Standards Based Enterprise O&M Solutions Vendor, Product & Platform Neutral International Maintenance Conference December 5-9, 2004

  2. Presentation Outline • Why Do Information Standards Matter? • What is the OpenO&M™ Initiative? • Key OpenO&M™ Collaboration Activities • 2004 IMC Demo Introduction Slide • 2004 IMC Demo Scenario 1 • OpenO&M™ Future Opportunities To Participate

  3. Why Do Open Information Standards Matter? • Open information standards enable vendors, integrators and end-users to focus on higher value added activities that are specific to their organization. • Open information standards enable an enterprise to own its own information rather than having it locked up in proprietary systems and formats. • Open information standards are critical enablers for information models that need to span multiple sites and multiple enterprises. • Open information standards stimulate the development and deployment of new classes of value added applications leveraging the open information.

  4. What Is The OpenO&M™ Initiative? • A cross industry collaboration between MIMOSA & OPC Foundation • Enables enterprise Operations & Maintenance (O&M) integration • Provides vendor, product and platform neutral information standards • Enables a win/win/win scenario for vendors, integrators and end-users • OpenO&M enables more efficient enterprises by enabling multi-vendor strategies such as: • Collaborative Asset Life-cycle Management (CALM) • Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) • Condition Based Operations (CBO) • Joint Working Groups for specific industries include other collaboration partners applicable to those specific industries • OpenO&M Manufacturing Joint Working Group – ISA 95 • OpenO&M Facilities Joint Working Group – NIBS • OpenO&M Military Joint Working Group – Army & Navy
