Wingman Advocate Purpose • Assist all personnel at HAFB to create a more protective workplace environment • We bolster protective factors • We identify trends and issues (risk factors) in the workplace that may cause undue stress so leadership can address them • We foster a Wingman Culture where everyone watches out for and takes care of each other • We recognize and acknowledge people who have exhibited exemplary “Wingman” behaviors BE AMERICA’S BEST

Wingman Advocate Role • We lend support for you during times of stress, employee participation is strictly voluntary • We connect civilian employees and their family members to resources • We lend an ear (non-clinical) to anyone who wants to talk • We assist in intervention during times of crisis • There are 12 Wingmen embedded in various organizations throughout the HAFB BE AMERICA’S BEST

  5. Wingman Advocate Role • Wingman advocates are an extension of Leadership and work on their behalf to support you! • We are NOT Mental Health Providers or Clinical Therapists • We look out for you BE AMERICA’S BEST

Wingman Advocate Role • We are highly sensitive to your personal issues but don’t have confidentiality privileges and must report to leadership • Threats of suicide, homicide or violence • Admissions of child abuse • Admissions of illegal activities to include theft and drug abuse • Admissions that allude to risks to National Security • If you require confidentiality, we can connect you to the Employee Assistance Program or a Mental Health Provider through your personal insurance BE AMERICA’S BEST

This is a Legitimate Concern! • Utah has a high percentage of suicides per capita and is in a region of the United Sates which is referred to as “the suicide belt” • We must take this seriously and be good Wingmen to one another with the courage to care Please learn who your advocate is so you can direct others to them if you are not comfortable in dealing with them directly 24 HOUR WINGMAN ADVOCATE HOTLINE NUMBER: 801-777-CALL (2255) BE AMERICA’S BEST
