Do I Bring That Message? • There was a challenge to that spirit last week • American, UAL, Delta, NW: 20% sched cut • Continental cut 12,000 (1/3 of workforce) • AAL or NW to follow? • Airline stocks lost $1 Billion yesterday • $10-12 Billion in losses projected this year (US) • $10 Billion in lost revenue last week (world) • Standards and other groups postponing • Security costs will go up • Insurance costs will go up

But That Message Is Still Correct • PETAL was about that human spirit • It was about doing the difficult things • It was about people coming together to achieve • It was about some of the best people I have ever met • It was about taking one step • On the road to major improvements • That no one questions as crucial for the next steps

  7. Today You Will Hear From Those People • Today you will hear from some of those people • Things that were done right • Lessons on what was done wrong • The parts of the system that work well • The parts of the system that need work

The Message You Take Away is Critical • This community needs to take steps now • This community cannot afford • 3 more years of trials • 3 more years of validation • Political splits over technology, etc. • Ask all the questions you need • But walk away from here knowing • That it can be done now. • That it must be done now. • That you must help in making that happen.
