  1. My trip to Murcia By George Eustace

  2. Where is Murcia? Murcia is in the south–east of Spain

  3. What I need • Passport and travel documents • Spanish dictionary • Camera • Clothes for 5 days including swimming kit • Shoes including sandals • Money (in Euros)

  4. What I plan to visit in Murcia… Inside the Murcia Museum of archaeology • I would like to visit the archaeological museum • The permanent display consists of 16 rooms from the Palaeolithic era to the Bronze Age. • There is also a range of Iberian art discovered in the region. • The visit is completed with a temporary expedition room of archaeology. • Educational workshops are all year round.

  5. I also find the museum of the Roman theatre interesting • It was built between 5 B.C. and 1 B.C. • But in the 3rd century A.D. amarket was built over the theatre, but unfortunately the market was abandoned in 425 A.D. because of a fire caused by vandals. • But in 1988 the first remains of the theatre were discovered in the construction of the centro regional de artesania. • In 2003 the restorations were complete. • Then in 2008 a museum opened which was designed by Rafael Moneo.

  6. The cathedral of Murcia seems quite interesting too! • It was built in the Plaza Cardinal Beluga. • The first stone of the current cathedral was officially laid on the 22nd of January 1394. • But the cathedral continued to grow until the 18thcentury developing many styles to it. • It’s interior is Gothic, the façade is Baroque and it was made by a Valencian architect and sculptor named JaumeBort I Melia. 7. I am looking forward to tasting Murcia’s food A general sum up of Murcia’s cooking style is a strong Arabic taste. Murcia have two cheeses that are very similar: Queso de Murcia and Quesode Murcia al vino. There are lots of restaurants serving local dishes Like paella and fresh fish

  8. Beaches and country-side Beaches Country-side • There are many different parts • of the country side. • Ricote Valley is one of the most beautiful and undiscovered regions of Murcia • The Costa Calida (warm coast) • is one of Spain’s fastest growing • Hotspots. • It has a coast of 250km • The Costa Calida is home to water sports, scuba diving, fishing and nature reserves and sun-bathing.
