InterSystems and the NPfIT CSC selects InterSystems for trust integration 10 Sep 2008 Computer Sciences Corporation is to use InterSystems Ensemble for the integration of all new applications it provides to existing trust systems. CSC, the local service provider for the North East and Midlands regionsin England’s NHS National Programme for IT, has selected Ensemble as the standard trust integration engine (TIE).

InterSystems and the NPfIT Ensemble now available from CSC as the standard Trust Integration Engine (TIE) • Centrally-defined, standard solution for existing systems integration. • Available to all NHS Trusts scheduled to deploy CSC NPfIT solutions • Ensemble TIE Licence and annual maintenance is free to Trusts • Enables connectivity between Trust-side applications and the CSC NPfIT solutions • Library of standard departmental systems interfaces • Trusts can upgrade to a full Ensemble licence

  7. What is a TIE? • Ensemble • A set of enhancements to Ensemble • A set of 50 application interfaces (adapters) • Support mechanisms • Custom training courses: • Developers course • Administration course • Available via eLearning

Ensemble TIE Licence • Ensemble TIE Licence and annual maintenance is FOC to Trusts • It is a unique licence only available through CSC • Ensemble TIE is part of the Core Reference Solution and is specifically licensed to meet this requirement • Characteristics: • implemented Trust-side • enables connectivity between Trust-side applications and the CSCA data centre • preconfigured components aligned with CSCA, e.g. message sequencing logic • includes shadow server (resilience) • includes development / test licence • includes departmental system adapters approved by the Trust Integration Forum • does not enable intra-Trust integration

Ensemble TIE Support Services • As part of an implementation of any Core Reference Solution, CSC will: • install Ensemble on Trust hardware • perform basic TIE configuration, e.g. connection, certificates • install any relevant interface assets CSC has already developed • test a “first-of-type” interface in partnership with the nominated Trust • Additional Service Request (ASR) required if Trust requires TIE services from CSC independent of the Core Reference Solution implementation • Trusts are responsible for running their TIE • Trusts are responsible for 1st and 2nd line support • 3rd line support available through the CSC Helpdesk • Trusts are fully responsible for any interfaces they develop or modify • Free access to Ensemble eLearning services • Recommended 3 days of training at InterSystems training centre in Eton for at least 2 Trust IT staff @ £350 per student day. (Admin: 1 day / Developer : 2 day)

Ensemble E2 Licence • Includes all of the functionality within the Ensemble TIE but also enables intra-Trust integration • Ensemble TIE may be upgraded at any time to an Ensemble E2 licence for a fee of £30,000 (licence) and £8,400 p.a. (annual maintenance) • Purchased directly from InterSystems • Maximum annual increase in maintenance fee of CPI +1% • Upgrade comprises: • Ensemble E2 licence with shadow server • Separate development/test licence • Maximum 2 CPU / 8 cores per server • Capacity for up to 75 interfaces

Ensemble E2 Support Services • Direct access to support from InterSystems WRC (worldwide resource centre) • available 24 x 7 • direct access to engineers by phone and email • customer sets priority level • Assistance from InterSystems UK Sales Engineering team • Trusts can quickly become self-sufficient • Additional Ensemble services are available through InterSystems where Trusts have a particular requirement, e.g. interface development skills • Free access to Ensemble eLearning services • Recommended 11 days of training at InterSystems training centre in Eton for at least 2 Trust IT staff @ £350 per student day. (Admin: 3 days / Developer : 8 days)
