  1. Fast and Loose

  2. Fast and Loose is an improvisation comedy. • Its on Fridays at 10pm on BBC2 and is 30 minutes long. • Fast and Loose is an improvisation show created by the team behind Mock the Week. • Directed and written by Hugh Dennis and Dan Patterson. • The BBC says: “Comprimising a succession of lively games that spoof films, TV programmes and music, Fast and Loose threatens to do for comedy what Downton Abbey did for spotting stray aeroplanes and TV aerials.”

  3. Hugh Dennis presents the show, he introduces the audience, and sits at a desk to introduce the performers involved. • The layout is familiar to “Who’s Line is it anyway?” Hugh Dennis calls out various situations for the comics to get involved in, and its their task to make it as funny as they can.

  4. Due to the scheduled time of 10pm the most likely target audience would be young adults. However, an older audience can enjoy it as there are familiar faces such as Hugh Dennis and Wayne Brady. Although the most likely target audience is the older generation the improvisation sketches usually lead to childish comedy which appeals to a wider, younger audience.

  5. Starring: - Hugh Dennis, Justin Edwards, David Armand, Greg Davies, Humphrey Ker, Thomas Parry, Pippa Evans, Marek Larwood and Laura Solon. Editing: - • Each sketch lasts up to 6 minutes. • Fast paced action to keep the audience engaged and laughing. Before and After: - Before – Can’t take it with you which is a Hard-hitting drama After – Newsnight Comparison : - Takes sitcom and puts it into bite sized pieces, most sketches become childish, or surreal.

  6. Throughout the programme there are many different types of comedy such as mime, one liners, physical comedy, satire and sitcom. David Armand specialises in physical comedy including mime. He is also a master at facial Expressions and staying in role.
