  1. Dentures Types and applications Presented By

  2. Complete Dentures Complete dentures (sometimes called full dentures) are fitted when all the natural teeth have been lost.

  3. Partial Dentures These are required when only some of the natural teeth are missing. To help keep partial dentures in place, wire clips or claws are often incorporated.

  4. Over Dentures It covers natural tooth roots held within the jaw bone. Leaving roots in place preserves bone and effectively gives the denture more grip.

  5. Immediate Dentures Placed in the mouth directly after teeth are extracted. This means a person does not have to be without teeth whilst the gums heal.

  6. Copy Dentures If an individual finds a particular set of dentures satisfactory then replicas of these can be produced. Slight alterations to improve the fit of the dentures are often made.

  7. Implant Retained Dentures Implants can be used to hold or retain dentures in place. In such cases special attachments on the inside surface of the denture (such as clips, press studs or magnets) are used to connect to the implants.
