  3. What is surface area? • Surface area is the sum of all the areas of all the shapes that cover the surface of an object.

  4. Formulas for Surface AREA • Surface area of a rectangular prism = 2lw + 2lh + 2wh • Surface area of a triangular prism = area of the top and bottom plus area of each side

  5. Volume • Volume is the amount of 3-dimensional space occupied by an object. • It is measured in cubic units. • Volume of a rectangular prism = lwh • Volume of a triangular prism= (1/2bh)(H)
