  3. How do I know what educator plan I am on and who is evaluating me? Each school building leader will inform everyone of what educator plan they are on and who is the primary evaluator at the beginning of the school year.

  4. What is included in the Self-Assessment? • Educators self-assess their performance using: 1. Student Data 2. Educator Rubric • Complete self-assessment and meet with evaluator before Oct. 1

  5. How do I log-into TeachPoint? • District: mursd • Login: first initial, last name (ex. mcohen) • Password: (You can either enter the password from the first time you have logged into TeachPoint. You can click ond” to reset.)

  6. How do I create a new form in TeachPoint? Click on “New” in top menu bar and all of the available forms will appear.

  7. How do I complete the self-assessment form?

  8. What makes a good SMART goal? Student Learning Example: • By January 2014, given pre-writing strategies, appropriate technology and a prompt, all of my 5th grade students will complete writing activities as appropriate to audience and assignment with 75% accuracy for structure, content and writing conventions in three out of five recorded opportunities. Professional Practice Example: • By May 2014,the entire Clough 4th grade team will have 100% of the priority benchmarks identified and aligned for mathematics for the 4th grade in the Atlas Rubicon database.

What happens at the beginning-of-cycle meeting? • Review of self-assessment • Review and development of 2 SMART Goals • Student Learning Goal • Professional Practice Goal • Mutually agree upon 3-4 pieces of evidence • Honesty and reflection are key. • Think about what you do well and areas you need to improve. • Align to district and school goals

  11. How many classroom observations can I expect? NPTS First year: • At least 1 announced • (with pre-observation/ post-observation meeting) • At least 5 unannounced; max of 10 per year- appropriately spaced Second & Third Years: • At least 5 unannounced; max of 10 per year- appropriately spaced PTS • At least 5 unannounced; max of 10 per year- appropriately spaced

  12. What is the process for observations and feedback? Observations • Begin after Sept. 9. • First one by Nov. 1st • Unannounced are at least 10 min. in duration • Min 5 a year. Feedback • Short, bite-sized pieces • Written feedback in classroom observation form • Opportunity for reflection by educator • Face-to-face feedback • Written feedback within 3-5 school days

Tasks for Mid-Cycle Review: • Educator submits evidence on progress on goals • Meeting with educator and evaluator • Evaluator assesses progress on goals • Educators on 1 year cycle: • Formative Assessment (January-February) • Educators on 2 year cycle: • Formative Evaluation (May-June)
