Definition Adult/Dislocated Worker Earnings Increase Official definition: Of those employed in 1st quarter after exit quarter, total post-program earnings (in Q2 & Q3 after exit) minus pre-program earnings (in Q2 & Q3 prior to participation) divided by the number of customers who exit during the quarter. Customers not employed in the 1st quarter after exit are excluded.

Positive Performance Adult/Dislocated Worker Earnings Increase Positive Performance Outcome: Increase (or low decrease) in earnings when comparing pre-program (quarters 2 & 3 before participation) and post program earnings (quarters 2 & 3 after exit). Adults and Dislocated Workers not employed inthe 1st quarter after exit are excluded.

  19. 19. Individual Calculation Adult/Dislocated Worker Earnings Increase Individual calculation: What if a customer has a pre-program hourly wage of about $6.00? Example: Goal for PY 2005 = $3,774 (for 2nd & 3rd quarters after exit). If a customer earned $6,240 during the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. before participation (approx. $6/hr.).

  20. 20. Individual Calculation Adult/Dislocated Worker Earnings Increase Individual calculation: What if customers have high pre-program earnings? S/he would need to earn $10,014 for the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. after exit or an annual salary of $20,028 ($9.63/hour) to achieve the goal.

Individual Calculation Adult/Dislocated Worker Earnings Increase Individual calculation: When customers have zero earnings before WIA participation, meeting earnings increase requirements can be easier. Example: Goal for PY 2005 = $3,774 (for 2nd & 3rd quarters after exit). If an adult earned $0 during the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. before participation, S/he would need to earn $3,774 for the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. after exit or an annual income of $7,548 to achieve the goal (or $3.63/hour).
