  1. Obvious Signs That Your Computer Requires Professional Repair The standard lifecycle of a laptop is about 5 years, with some desktops able to last even longer, that’s considered the projected life cycle of the product before a replacement may be required.

  2. Your computer has slowed down: • It happens to nearly all computers at some point. Try freeing up some hard drive space, reconfiguring the start up programs that use up too much RAM as the system boots. Perform a general clean up of the system.

  3. If it overheats: • Overheating is a major issue that can damage your computer. If your laptop is getting hot because you have it on a soft surface while you operate Adobe Photoshop or the latest high-end game, even on a computer system that is designed for gaming, it is going to get hot.

  4. If it is shutting down frequently: • There is nothing to worry about if your computer automatically shuts down once every couple of weeks, months due to needing updates to software, windows updates etc.  However, you should not overlook a computer that shuts down frequently. Some people overlook this issue due to the high cost of computer repairs. But by doing so you are actually taking the risk of causing multiple problems resulting in the computer failing to restart after a shutdown with the potential loss of all the important data stored on it. Experiencing a blue screen: • The blue screen of death “BSOD” is something that every computer user fears. If you run a Windows PC or laptop, it means there has been a serious error and it often makes your computer unusable.  This is a major issue and considered serious and you will certainly need to get it checked by a qualified technician.
