  1. Week of 11-14-11 thru 11-18-11 6.7 TEKS statement: Matter and energy. The student knows that some of Earth’s energy resources are available on a nearly perpetual basis, while others can be renewed over a relatively short period of time. Some energy resources, once depleted, are essentially nonrenewable.

  5. LEARNCoal- Energy created by a blackish rock that is composed of mainly carbons and hydrocarbons. Produced on Earth from trapping energy of plants that lived hundreds of years ago.Oil- Energy made from a refined substance created by heat and pressure on Earth’s layers over time.

  6. LEARNNatural Gas- Energy produced by a naturally occurring gas, created by organic particles covered in earth over time.Nuclear Power- Energy produced from controlled nuclear reactions.Biomass- Energy made from organic material made from plants and animals.

Next, you and a partner will pick an energy resource and come up with detailed advantages and disadvantages. Each one will be represented by a picture. These will all be written on a piece of butcher paper. Practice
