  2. Who are we serving? • Any student (male and female) in the district who has or will have a child while entitled to a public education • We serve students until they are 21 if they have not completed a high school program

  3. Components of a Teen Parent Program • Education for the teen who has or will become a parent • Parental education; access to resources and development of a post high school plan (Case Management) • Childcare for the baby

  4. Education for the Teen • Individual - developed on a case by case basis • Priority for all programs from regular school full day; partial day schedule; alternative education programs; tutoring or any combination of the above • Also receives ALL federal program services if the teen parent qualifies • Goals set and closely monitored • Person responsible – Robert Abdou

  5. Case Management • Personal education plan is developed • Includes all the components of a teen program • Parent education • Resources • Post High School Plan • Person responsible: Jeri Harbison with support from Susy Saray & Valerie DeLoretto, Case Manager (Voc Specialist if needed)

  6. Child Care for Baby • Arranged in cooperation with the teen parents and grandparents • If needed: contract with local state licensed daycare providers for infants and youth • If applicable: Head Start • Monitored closely by the district • Formally paid for by Oregon Health Plan (baby qualifies) now a district responsiblity

  7. Accountability • Required to have a written plan for each teen parent • Plan revised as necessary; minimum review is annually by a team • Track plans through IEP Plus – database • Required to transport parent/baby • Clerical support: Sara Moberg • Current student enrollment: 10*
