  2. Evidence Name • Tag #3,5,7 • Evidence was collected from gravel, clothing, and victim. • Results from blood typing lab was 2 samples of blood type B and 4 samples of blood type O.

  4. Evidence Collected at the Chula Vista Nature Center Marsh • 6 different blood samples were collected at the crime scene. • Blood Type B (victim) and O (suspect) were collected from the crime scene. • Sample blood #1 & #4 were type B and Sample blood #2,3,5,6 came in as blood type O.

Possible Interpretation of the Evidence • It is possible that the suspect bombed the victim’s car in an attempt to murder him. • The victim could have possibly been walking to his car after working at the Marsh and avoided the bombing. • The victim was still severely injured by the suspect after he saw that the victim did not die and finally, the victim died after he was stabbed numerous times.

  6. Marsh What is a marsh? A marsh is a tract of low wet land, often treeless and periodically inundated, generally characterized by a growth of grasses, sedges, cattails, and rushes. What animals can you find there? Many species of frogs, toads, turtles, snakes, mammals, birds and insects can be found there.

  7. Blood Type Inheritance • There are 4 different blood types: type A, B, AB, and O. There were only 2 types of blood found at the scene which were type B and O. • Genotype: B- iBi, iBiB (possible genotype of victim) O- ii (possible genotype of suspect) • Percentage of U.S. Blood Types O+ 37% O– 6% A+ 34% A– 6% B+ 10% B– 2% AB+ 4% AB– 1%
