  4. The Priority of the Gospel • 10-16 - same as previous session - absolute commitment to unity of body • ‘no divisions’ = schism - none! and ‘same mind’ = think same things ... doctrinally Session 4 1 Cor. 1:10-31

  5. The Priority of the Gospel • 18 = the Word (logos) is foolishness to those who ‘are perishing’ (present tense - in the act of), on their way to hell! • BUT to those who are ‘being saved’ (present tense) it is the POWER of God Session 4 1 Cor. 1:10-31

  6. The Priority of the Gospel • As soon as you START to let the gospel slide you begin to lose power in ministry • YOU are part of God’s plan to help keep the slide from starting Session 4 1 Cor. 1:10-31

  8. The Priority of the Gospel • Incarnation, perfect life • Substitutionary death on cross • Propitiation of God’s righteous wrath • Death of Jesus, 3 days latter His resurrection • Repentance • Ascension and rulership of all + soon return Session 4 1 Cor. 1:10-31

  11. We limit the cross • Pre-evangelism - no need for the cross • Gaining a ‘right’ to share gospel • Get them saved with some version of gospel • Then set it aside - not needed now - done with it Session 4 1 Cor. 1:10-31
