  3. Research projects

  4. WIP in RUSSIA

  5. WIP in RUSSIA • Research method: personal formalized interviews (face-to-face). • Principles of sampling: four-level stratified territorial random sampling of respondents. The sampling (1600 respondents older than 14) represents the grown up population of the Russian Federation in gender, age, educational status, type of settlement where a respondent resides. The sampling also represents the Federal Districts of the Russian Federations.

  6. Internet usage in Russia

  7. Internet usage: respondent's age segmentation (age) of involvement in the i-communication; the youngest team (14-18) in the lead by number of users (94,4%) large gap between the generations; dividing line – 50-53;

  8. The priority of information source

  9. The priority of information source • age segmentation of involvement in the i-communication: the older users, the higher the value of TV (vs Internet) as a source of information and entertainment; • based on these data, we hypothesized that there are two groups: «TV party» and «Internet party» (there is a link between Internet activity and electoral attitudes); • we found a correlation between the using of a source of information (TV or Internet) and the individual value of political freedom, ensured by (in) the Internet.

  10. Cluster analysis «Internet party» «Homo informaticus» Internet as a space of everyday life Internet as a space for communication only with a small group of cyberfriends

  11. Contacts Tel: +7(495) 647 44 77 (13-11) Web:http://www.mggu-sh.ru/isc E-mail:brodovskaya@inbox.ru , dmitrieva.oksana@gmail.com Thank you for your attention!

  12. Cluster analysis • allows to determinethe composition of the«Internet party» , but it can not determine the structure of it. • in order to overcome these difficulties, we now realize: - In-depth interviews - A focus group study - A content analysis of the social network
