Would I benefit from a sober living home

Beginning the road to recovery is exciting, hard, and can be very challenging. Sober living homes are unique group living arrangements for men and women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Many of these homes are privately owned by individuals who have been successful in recovery from addiction themselves. They want to help others make a change in their lives too. These sober living homes provide a supportive atmosphere that allows those recovering from addiction to have fun, laugh with friends, learn new skills and grow while creating new relationships and becoming clean and sober.

  1. Would I benefit from a sober Living home? Beginning the road to recovery is exciting, hard, and can be very challenging. Sober living homes are unique group living arrangements for men and women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Many of these homes are privately owned by individuals who have been successful in recovery from addiction themselves. They want to help others make a change in their lives too. These sober living homes provide a supportive atmosphere that allows those recovering from addiction to have fun, laugh with friends, learn new skills and grow while creating new relationships and becoming clean and sober. Recovery is not easy so having the right support system is crucial. Sober Living offers a recovery environment that promotes emotional growth and helps people maintain long-term sobriety. For individuals recovering from alcohol or drug addictions, these homes are different from traditional rehab centers in that residents generally have more freedom and come and go as they please. However, they must follow specific rules, such as being home by a certain time or going to work during the day. Benefits from sober living homes The motivation to stop using is often very strong, but the process of quitting can be challenging. Sober living homes provide critical support that makes this process easier. These supports include a stable, structured living environment in which to focus on healing, access to medical care and counseling, and sober peers and a sober community. Sober living homes are not rehabbed facilities. Types of rules sober living homes facilitate: Sober living homes (SLHs) are residential facilities aimed toward people who transition from substance use disorder to sobriety. To attend an SLH, individuals may be required to have gone through an intensive treatment program, be in recovery for a specified amount of time, or be under the close supervision of a sober companion. The most important component of an SLH is its rules–there are varying degrees of rules and regulations in different locations, but many commonalities exist. Rules usually include a curfew, paying rent, attending 12-step meetings as often as possible, and having a sober companion within the home.
