  4. SOLARECLIPSE Teacher Definition: • A SOLAR ECLIPSE occurs when the moon passes between the sun and Earth and casts a shadow on Earth.

  5. Solar Eclipse, Continued • Occurs during the New Moon phase of the lunar cycle • The Moonis blocking the Sun’s light. • They can last up to 7 minutes and they occur two to five times each year, and occur during New Moon
