  3. Some bats only eat fruit. These bats are valuable because they pollinate plants and are responsible for many new plants. Many plant eating bats have leaf noses. Some bats eat insects. These bats are valuable because they eliminate millions of harmful insects. Insects eating bats usually have very long ears. They use echolocation to find their prey. What do bats eat?

  4. Bats eat millions of bugs each night. Without bats our planet would be full of nastyinsects.

  5. Where do bats live? • Bats can live in caves, trees, and bat houses.

  6. Are bat dangerous? Bats, like all wild animals, should not be handled by humans. This, however, does not mean that they are dangerous. Bats are very beneficial to man. They are planters of seeds and enemies to harmful insects.

  7. Nocturnal Animals • Bats are nocturnal animals. • They look for food at night. • They sleep and rest during the day.

  8. ECHOLOCATION Bats use echolocation to find food and guide them as they fly.

  9. Bats are our friends! • There are many myths about bats, but we need to realize that bats are our friends and are very beneficial to us.
