  1. My favourite books

  2. 1st place is going on a bear hunt This book is my favourite book because it is funny and very enjoyable. Follow the family's excitement as they wade through the grass, splash through the river and squelch through the mud in search of the bear. What a surprise awaits in the cave on the other side of the dark forest.

  3. In 2nd place is the gruffalo 'A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood. A fox saw the mouse and the mouse looked good.' Walk further into the deep dark wood, and discover what happens when the quick-thinking mouse comes face to face with an owl, a snake and a hungry gruffalo I liked this book because it was funny and I loved it!!!!.

  4. In 3rd place is the rainbow fish This book is about a fish on an adventure. I liked this book because it made me happy when I was sad and it was the very first book I read.

  5. 4th place is rumble in the jungle Come into the jungle for a noisy rhyming romp packed with favourite animals, from tigers to chimpanzees, brought to life with fun, vibrant artwork. This bestselling picture book from an award-winning creative team is a delight to read aloud and share with young children. I liked this book because it was good at rhyming and made me laugh.

  6. 5th place is pants Small children (and lots of adults!) love pants. They love talking about pants. They giggle whenever pants are mentioned. Let's face it - Pants are very funny! "Pants" is a picture book with a brilliant rhyming text by Giles Andreae and lots of hilarious pictures by Nick Sharratt. As we go through the book, we meet lots of different animals, people and sometimes inanimate objects each wearing a different kind of pants - every shape, pattern, colour, size and style that you can think of - and lots more besides! This book will make children laugh and they will ask for it again and again. Pants - which ones are your favourite? I liked this book because it was a great book to read .

  7. 6th place is spot This is a super-fun interactive book with a gorgeous Spot hand puppet. The large, soft plush puppet is one size fits all - we've tested it on children and parents! Each spread has simple text that encourages children to join in: sing, bop, nod and wave along with Spot and his friends. Bold, colourful illustrations make this book particularly engaging for children. Altogether, this is an irresistibly playful book. I like this book because I have enjoyed it when I was young and I still do.

  8. 7th place is the abc "The Letterland ABC" is an essential addition to any classroom. This best-selling children's alphabet book has been completely revised with vibrant new illustrations. Each of the 26 scenes depict a Letterland character surrounded by objects beginning with the target sound. Children love finding all the alternative words, promoting phonemic awareness and vocabulary development • I have chosen this book because with out this then I wouldn’t be able to write or talk.

  9. 8th place is pumpkin soup Cat, Duck and Squirrel live in an old white cabin, with a pumpkin patch in the garden. Every day Cat slices up some pumpkin, Squirrel stirs in some water and Duck tips in some salt to make perfect pumpkin soup... until the day Duck wants to do the stirring... • I chose the pumpkin soup because when I was little I used to read it when I was about to go to bed as a bed time story and found it very amusing
