  1. SII CPD Scheme Demonstration of the SII CPD Log Active Reflective Self-Directed Development

  2. 35 hours of CPD activities need to be logged annually • CPD activities undertaken via the SII (except Self-Directed activities) are recorded on the SII CPD log automatically • Only non-SII activities need to be logged manually

  3. REGISTRATION • Log on to www.sii.org.uk • Go to SII CPD Scheme section and select ‘SII CPD LOG’

  4. Log on using your member number and password to enter the SII CPD Log.

  5. 4. .Select your registration date. Your CPD year will begin from this day You can back-date as far as 11 months ago if desired.

  6. LEARNING ELEMENTS The SII CPD Scheme has been built around the concept of 4 learning elements. All CPD activities to be logged will fall into one of these four elements.

  7. ACTIVE • Proactive • Participatory • Interactive EXAMPLES: • CPD events • Conferences • Examinations

  8. REFLECTIVE • Passive • Briefings EXAMPLES: • SII Infolink • Industry briefings • Viewing webcasts

  9. SELF-DIRECTED • Solitary • Unaccompanied EXAMPLES: • Reading S&I Review • Studying from workbooks • Reading Industry Journals

  10. DEVELOPMENT OF OTHERS • Sharing of knowledge • Benefit of others EXAMPLES: • Chairing at events • Presenting at conferences • Inducting new staff

  11. LOGGING AN ACTIVITY Select the appropriate tab and hit NEW ENTRY

  12. From the drop-down menu select the type of activity and the supplier.

  13. Next, enter the title, description, outcome and number of hours earned. Select the date of the activity and hit SAVE.

  14. If the type of activity or supplier is not available from the drop down menus, select OTHER to input the details of the activity undertaken.

  15. A summary of the logged activity is displayed.

  16. EDITING ACTIVITES If needed, activities can be edited once logged. Highlight the entry and hit EDIT ENTRY

  17. All details entered may be edited if needed. When you are done, hit SAVE ENTRY to record your changes. Only manually-logged entries may be edited.

  18. Logged activities can also be reassigned to another element if needed. • REASSIGNINGENTRIES

  19. Simply choose the element to which you wish to assign the activity and hit MOVE. The activity type may also be changed.

  20. Attendance Certificates Attendance certificates for SII professional events can be downloaded directly from the SII CPD Log. Simply select the event and hit DOWNLOAD CERTIFICATE.

  21. The ALL ACTIVITES tab can be used to monitor all activities logged to date.

  22. Registration details are displayed on the right hand side of the SII CPD Log. It also illustrates how many hours have already been logged, how many more are needed and how much of the year remains until the registration period ends.

  23. An ‘export to Excel’ feature on the ALL ACTIVITIES tab enables users to create a backup copy of their SII CPD Log.

  24. YEAR END After one year has passed from initial registration, a new log for the coming year automatically becomes available. Members may choose to view the previous or current logs when signing in.

  25. An online help manual is located within the SII CPD Log to assist users. Simply click on the HELP link within the SII CPD Log to access this.
