Spezifische Merkmale der Textsorte formal – informal, typicalphrases • Layout • Task achievement • Read the task instruction carefully – what exactly do you have to do? • Include all bulletpoints • Take some time to brainstorm and note your ideas. Then check if they are relevant for answering the task and bring them into a suitable order.

  5. Explain your points and give examples • Don’t write too less or too much • Proofreading at the end • Understanding and describing graphs • Spelling + punctuation • Linking words (but,however, etc.) • Word order • Collocations (e.g. “do homework”)

  13. Multiple choice • you have to choose the correct answer from 4 alternatives A, B, C or D • vocabulary synonyms, collocations, which word is used in which context? • prepositions • pronouns • linking words

  14. Wortbildung • you have to change the word in the brackets so that it fits into the gapped sentence • pre- and suffixes to change word class • irregularwordforms (vocabulary) • identifywhichkindofwordismissing (noun, adjective, adverb, verb)

  15. Editieren • In most lines of the text there is one word that should not be there. Write that word in the space provided on the answer sheet. Some lines are correct. Indicate these lines with a tick (). • pronouns • use of articles • tenses • countable and uncountable nouns

  16. Lückentext • Some parts of the text are missing. For each gap, find the correct word on the next page. There are more words than gaps. • phrasal verbs • prepositions • collocations • tenses
