Tanzania Study Approaches • GoT in driver’s seat (jointly funded by 6 DP HQs) • Joint GoT / DPs initiative (Tanzania MG) • Taking advantage of existing studies/initiatives.. → IMG 2005, ESRF/CSD TC Report 2002, WB CD Study 2005, CD Study by Japan 2005, GoT CD consultation 2007 for AGF 7 etc. • Trying to mainstream this initiative to an appropriate aid coordination structure → align the membership to JAST Action Plan TA Policy “DP task team” JICA Tanzania Office DPG-Health 7 Nov.2007

Joint Management GroupCurrent Membership (DPs) • DPs composition • Initially started with DPs represented in int’l steering committee & then later enlarge membership in line with TA policy DP members → now has become identical with TA policy DP taskforce members (PSRP DPs + UNDP / GTZ / JICA) • Currently, DP staff in charge of PSRP and national capacity development issues are involved, but sector staff will be duly invited whenever necessary • Current Member DPs • (Multilateral) World Bank, UNDP • (Bilateral) GTZ, DFID, Denmark, CIDA Japan/JICA (DP coordinator / secretariat) JICA Tanzania Office DPG-Health 7 Nov.2007
