  4. Isla Espiritu Santo is one of the best reasons to visit the state of Baja California Sur and it is just off the coast of La Paz. It is a UNESCO protected world heritage site, and national park. It is known for its fantastic natural beauty and centuries of rich history. This mountainous Island is mostly uninhabited and is known for spiny rock formations jutting out of Sea of Cortez.
