  1. Preparing Ladakh Bike Trip For Manali Leh Captureatrip Riding in these regions is not a child's play, due to many reasons. Be it the extreme weather, unexpected landslides, unexpected weather changes, snowfall in some high passes, scarcity of fuel points, etc. The best way to deal with these challenges and make your ride safe is by having proper information about destinations and providing locals with adequate ways to contact you. Adventurers and bikers have been flocking to this region in recent times. But, riding in Ladakh bike trip during its winter season is not a child's play, due to many reasons. Be it the extreme weather or unexpected landslides, snowfall in some high passes, scarcity of fuel points and others. The ideal time for a trip to Leh Ladakh is during the months of June and September. During the winters, most roads remain closed. The best time to visit Ladakh is from late May to early October. Here's a complete list of things you should look into, before starting with the trip. 1. Prepare mentally

  2. Weather conditions in these regions are highly unpredictable. Not only do they change the terrain, they also affect the landscape. So you need to prepare mentally when you come here. You should be mentally prepared for the weather conditions in these regions. Because as they say, mountain regions are highly unpredictable. Make sure you are mentally prepared for the weather conditions in these remote regions. Because as they say, mountain regions are highly unpredictable. Remember that it will rain and snow, so be prepared. Prepare yourself mentally that you would be riding in the scorching hot sun as well. 2. Prepare physically

  3. Although a the bike ride is a fun way to get some exercise and burn calories, it helps to remain physically fit before embarking on the journey. Follow a fitness regime and work towards increasing your cardiovascular endurance. If you are taking up the challenge of cycling around the world, it is important to improve your fitness beforehand. Here’s how to prepare physically: Start jogging everyday. As you continue, you can target to jog for 5km in 35-40 minutes at the max. Start slow, and keep increasing your speed in your workouts as you get comfortable with it, increase the distance and time you will have to run, this will increase your endurance training. Avoid travelling long distances if you have any medical issues or consult a doctor before you head out for this high altitude ride 3. Be Confident

  4. Before you leave for your journey, be physically prepared. Know your strengths and weaknesses about driving. When people tell you that you are fast in curves, make a note. Don't drive too fast in the mountains. You won't enjoy the journey if you do. It's meant to cruise at your own pace The road is a tough place, and it is important to make sure you are in good shape. Most importantly, do not opt for a bigger bike just because everyone is saying so. Go with a bike that you are comfortable riding. However, a bike with a minimum of 15occ engine is a must. 5. Don't be overconfident So take your time. In a journey, you will come across many tough rides. Some might even be dangerous. Your main focus is to get through it safely and your number one priority must be to avoid being injured or getting pregnant during the trip. If it is too late and you think you are going to fall pregnant, then call an ambulance immediately You can’t judge the depth of the river from just one crossing. If you are not confident in your ability to cross, watch others cross first and then follow them if possible.

  5. 4. Carry your own medical kit It is important to have a medical kit on hand, especially for long- distance journeys. Avoid the need to go to find doctors along the way by preparing a medical kit with necessary items. Below is a list that I put together, but you should consult a physician before carrying one of these kits into safety. · Diamox 10-15 tablets ( AMS ) · Crocin 10 tabs ( Fever ) · Combiflam 10 tabs ( Pain Killer ) · Digene ( Acidity ) · Lomopalm ( Loose motion ) · ORS 10 pakcs · Creepe bandage · Band aid 10 strips · Cotton roll · Moov / Volini spray · Antiseptic cream like Boro plus

  6. · Moisturizer like Vaseline · Sunscreen 30 SPF and above · Wet wipes / toilet rolls 5. Prepare your bike If you are riding your own personal bike, make sure you have all the necessary things. Make sure to get your bike Ladakh group tour serviced before the trip, and ride at least 100-200 kms after the service. In order to prepare your bike for the long road ahead, ask your mechanic to add an extra clutch and accelerator cable. This will make it so if something happens, you just have to switch them out. Preparing your bike is the most important step towards getting off the road safely. In case of an accident, it matters more than anything else whether you have a spare can for petrol, an electric motor and battery, or a whole bike! 6. Other things to carry (Checklist )

  7. Carry 2 big plastic bags, and the few small ones to keep your gadgets safe. Please DO NOT dispose them off in the mountains. Dispose them off in the dustbins only. · Powerbank (As you may not get charging points everywhere) · Torch (Mobile torch would do) · Thermals 2 pairs and a sweater.Cotton socks 3-4 pairs · Woolen socks 1-2 pairs at night · Woolen gloves 1-2 pairs · Riding gloves 1 pair · Balaclava · Goggles are must · Rain coats · Riding jacket · Water proof shoes are must · Protective gears like knee cap, elbow caps are recommended · Dry fruits to munch on the way · Atleast 2 water bottles of 1 litre each.

  8. 9. Permits If you start your journey from Himachal Pradesh (Manali trip )then you need to get all permits from the government of Himachal Pradesh. Also, if you going to Leh then you have to get permit for Leh as well. You can apply for both Himachal Permits and Leh Permits through either the State Government or any agents. You would have to pay an additional sum of money for the permission. In any case, keep a day spare for permits. 10. Postpaid phone Prepaid phone does not work in Jammu & Kashmir, following a Govt law. So carry a postpaid sim, if you need to have connectivity with outside world! The postpaid phone bill is a personalized delivery of your monthly bills. It is sent in the mail, and includes everything from the landline, to your mobile connections, internet and usage. It can be used for billing data if you would like an overview of your overall costs.
