  7. What is the ESSA School Index?The Every Student Succeeds Act (2015) provided states the opportunity to engage stakeholders in the development of the state’s accountability system. ESSA required states to include at least five indicators for success: 1. Achievement, 2. Growth, 3. English learner progress toward English language proficiency, 4. Graduation rate, and 5. School quality and student success (SQSS) Stakeholder Designed Accountability System

  8. What does ESSA mean for most schools and LEAs? Facilities and Transportation Academics District Operations and Fiscal Governance Human Capital Students Student Support Stakeholder Communication/Family and Community Engagement

  9. The DRAFT school reports are private reports and contain confidential school-level data for all students and all subgroups of students. • Public reports will be provided soon that have cells with N<10 redacted and other cells that may unintentionally lead to identification of specific students.

With stakeholder engagement, each school shall develop a school-level improvement plan that follows a continuous cycle of inquiry: Establish goals or anticipated outcomes based on an analysis of students’ needs.   Identify evidence-based interventions and practices to be implemented. Describe the professional learning necessary for adults to deliver the interventions and practices. Describe the implementation timeline for monitoring of the interventions and practices for effectiveness. Describe the timeline and procedures for evaluation of the interventions and practices for effectiveness.
