  4. KONYA Konya is one of the first inhabited cities in thehistory of mankind, and still contains traces of any ancient civilisations which gives it the atmosphere of a museum city. Because of its locations in the middle of the barren Anatolian steppe, it used to be one of the most important trading centers on the Silk Road.

  5. MEVLANA Mevlana who is also known as Rumi, was a philosopher and mystic of Islam, but not a Muslim of the orthodox type. His doctrine advocates unlimited tolerance, positive reasoning, goodness, charity and awareness through love. To him and to his disciples all religions are more or less same. Looking with the same eye on Muslim, Jew and Christian alike, his peaceful and tolerant teaching has appealed to men of all sects and creeds.

  6. Konya is divided into 32 Districts *The city itself is a Metropolitan City. *There are 3 Districts in the city centre: *Meram, Karatay and Selçuklu Municipalities

  9. MERAM DISTRICT NATIONAL EDUCATION DIRECTORATE MeramDistrict National Education Directorate is a state institution in charge with the planning and coordination of all kinds of educational and training activities in pre-school, primary, secondary and adult education in Meram Area.

  12. TOTAL QUALITY Planned School Development Model • Designing a Planned School Development Model has been based on total quality management and strategic planning approaches. It envisages the continuous development of our schools. The model has accomplished the following: • ‘’Learning school’’ understanding, • Contributive management understanding, which ensures participation of all of the components of school community in the management process, • A democratic school culture, • Ensuring the establishment of a planned working system, • Ensuring the continuous progress of the school, • Designing schools’ strategic plan, • Designating the development targets of the school, • Designating the methods to be implemented to reach the targets, • Bringing some different concepts like teamwork into school culture and ensuring they are understood in the school.

  13. Meram Ilce Milli Egitim Mudurlugu We are the local authority for national education and training in our region. We are in the position of dealing with both private and state schools. There are 120 schools, 3.150 school staff and 70.000 students in our region. We are in the position of establishing schools, appointing teachers, guiding and inspecting them. We also organise competitions for both teachers and students, and supply in-service training courses for teachers and the school staff.

  14. Our Mission Our mission is to develop education-teaching process by following modern innovations and advances, by carrying out researches; to improve and to implement laws and other regulations through the general goals and fundamental principles of National Education System.

  15. Projects Many projects carried by schools and other institutions in our district. This year we have 3 projects are approved: 1- A Leonardo Partnerships Project 2- A Grundtvig Learningship Partnership 3- A Grundtvig workshop
