  2. What is Signalization Signalization is a set of turning movements given right of way without confliction at intersection.

  4. Deficiencies In Existing Signalization • Free left turning movements prohibits pedestrian crossing and safety • No safe right turning movements for NMV • No Bus priority Signalization • Long Signal Cycle length increases Travel time, Delay time and pollution

  6. HCBS as a tool for better signalization planning

Infrastructural Benefits of HCBS for Signalization • Segregated Lanes prohibits free left turning • Segregated lanes provides bus priority Signalization • Segregated lanes provides for the safe pedestrian movement • Segregated lane does not increase the total cycle length. Proposed reduced cycle length decreases travel time and delay time and minimize pollution hazards.

  8. Signalization in HCBS and its advantages • The HCBS corridor has 4 representative types of signal control plans for following four categories of intersections in the corridor: • Four-armed junctions • Three-armed junctions • Foot of flyover junctions • Mid-Block Junctions

Conclusions HCBS promotes Better Environmental Air Quality NMV and Pedestrian mobility and safety improved Travel time and Delay time Increases Public Transport Priority is achieved So considering safety and health of commuter and pedestrian, present signal phasing time plan is designed to achieve the safe,environmental-friendly and efficient movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic on HCBS corridor in Delhi
