  2. Introduction • Author is the Apostle John, son of Zebedee. One of the disciples in Jesus’ “inner circle”. All early writers attribute the book to John. • Likely written in the 80’s in Ephesus. • Written with mostly Gentiles in mind (Jewish traditions are explained). • The emphasis in the gospel is the eternal nature of Jesus.
