DISASTER • Depending on the extent of exposures or the extent of the efforts required to contain the danger, the situation can be classified as emergency or Disaster. • An emergency, which is contained within the project premises or equivalent. An onsite emergency may require help from local rescue team depending upon its extent and speed, but the effects of such emergency are felt on the site only. • A Disaster is an emergency situation in which effects may not be contained within the mine premises but may spread outside the project premises. In Such case, the district disaster control plan/SCCL disaster management Plan is required to be put in action and the authorities designated by the district disaster control plan have to take action like evacuation of the neighboring area. • The emergency team leader on assessing the situation in consultation with rescue team leader will decide to call the authorities to declare the emergency as an Disaster.
