  2. What is the Caucus? • Community of Practice • Purpose: to contribute to country level efforts to achieve MDG 5 • Approaches: • Broaden discussion within Coalition • Collaborate with Working Groups

  3. Leadership • Co-chairs: • Jane Hutchings, PATH • John Townsend, Population Council • Facilitator: • Bonnie Keith, PATH/RHSC

  4. What do we mean by “new”? • NewRHtechnologies are those that are new to a global or country market, and are currently available for procurement.

  5. What do we mean by “underused”? • UnderusedRH technologies are those that are not routinely available in the public, private, or social marketing sectors, as well as those technologies not routinely procured by the major procurers.

  6. The technologies discussed by the Caucus are those that: • can expand choice in a reproductive health and family planning program, • add value to the method mix, and • respond to the needs of the clients.

  7. Structure within the Coalition • NOT a Working Group • Operates through the Working Groups • All Caucus members also belong to at least one WG • Market Development Approaches (MDA WG) • Resource Mobilization and Awareness (RMA WG) • Systems Strengthening (SSWG)
