  3. What is intelligence? • There is a general “g” intelligence. • It has verbal and mathematic expressions. • It is measured by IQ tests or academic achievement tests. • It is related to success in school.

  5. Linguistic Intelligence Encourage children to • share and discuss the books or articles • write reviews about the books they read • read stories or act out stories • prepare speeches or enroll in drama classes

  6. Logical-mathematical Intelligence Encourage children to • ask questions • do things without anybody's help, figure things out by themselves • challenge their problem solving and critical thinking

  7. Spatial Intelligence Encourage children to • use their creative imagination • draw, paint, design and build

  8. Musical Intelligence Encourage the children to • join school bands or choirs • play an instrument • listen to different types of music

  9. Body-kinesthetic Intelligence Encourage children to • participate in school teams • sports activities outside the school • Attend dance performances

  10. Interpersonal Intelligence Encourage children to • demonstrate good behavior in their relationships with others • work on establishing healthy relationships with their peers, siblings and elders

  11. Intrapersonal Intelligence Encourage children to • to set goals • understand their own thoughts and ideas • read about various religions and ways of life

  12. Naturalistic Intelligence Encourage children to • explore the outdoors • visit to places like the zoos, natural history museums ands observatories • watch nature programs on TV or videotapes
