  8. 1. A presentation regarding the approaches of administration needs to be delivered for a national Extension organization. Brian is asked to give the presentation on behalf of Sample University Extension. Brian, not a member of SUE administration, asks a cabinet member why he’s been chosen to attend. The cabinet member responds, “Look in the mirror.” Brian is black. What should Brian do? Ethics: Scenarios

  9. 2. A county Extension director, Mary, meets with a regional director, Bob, and says that there is an educator in her county, Jane, who should be fired. Bob asks why, and Mary says that everyone else in the county is working 60 hours a week and Jane only works 50. This causes others in the office to make up for some of Jane’s work. Bob knows Jane is a single mom of three, and OSU touts a “family-friendly” work environment. What should Bob do? Ethics: Scenarios

  10. 3. Dairy farmers have been giving their dairy cows rbST to help produce more milk per cow. rbST is FDA approved and research proves that there is no chemical difference between milk produced by an rbST cow and one that has not had rbST. A grocery store chain and a major dairy product distributor both have gone on record that they will not sell or distribute milk that was produced from a rbST cow. Both can make more per gallon of milk if they state “no rbST.” OSUE and OARDC boast the foundation of having an unbiased, researched based perspective, but have been asked by the distributor to sign an agreement against the use of the chemical. What do you do? Ethics: Scenarios
