    1. Welcome to Mrs. Clark’s English I Class! Dekaney High School Leading the Way to Excellence!

    2. Class Information This class will focus on enhancing students’ reading, writing, speaking & listening skills. We will do so through Read-aloud, independent reading & selections from Glencoe Literature 4th edition. Tutorials—Mondays & Thursdays after school Conference Time—6th period M,T, & F

    3. Grading Procedures & Required Materials Grading Scale 50% of grade is based on tests and projects 50% of grade is based on daily work and homework Required Materials—paper, pens, pencils, 5 subject spiral notebook

    4. TAKS & Your Student All students enrolled in U.S. History will take a Social Studies TAKS Test on April 30th. Your student MUST pass this test in order to be eligible for graduation. The test will cover 8th grade Early U.S. History, 9th grade World Geography, 10th grade World History, and 11th grade U.S. History. Tutorials, after school and in class, will be provided for students who do not master objectives on the district and campus assessments.
