  2. 簡 介 • 網際網路的快速成長 • 人們無法隨時攜帶電腦 行動通訊可以滿足此一需求 • 所幸，手機的使用者快速增加 • WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) • 就是要讓手機也能上網 • 讓行動設備(如手機、PDA 等)中有一個簡單的瀏覽器，透過它來存取 WWW 上的資訊

  3. WAP 的制定 • WAP Forum • 一群無線產業公司所組成 • Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, Phone.Com • 目標: • 制定可以在無線設備(手機、個人數位助理(PDA) 、呼叫器…)上使用的應用程式及協定規格 • 制定了WAP • 提供了一個相容且共通的介面，讓硬體製造商、系統業者、內容提供者與軟體開發者有所遵循

  4. WAP 的特性 • 依據WAP specificationv1.2: • WAP specification 與Internet 及WWW protocol 多能相容 • WAP specification是一個公開的 spec. • WAP specification與無線通訊協定無關 • WAP specification與手機無關

  5. WAP的網路架構 • 受限於無線設備與無線網路 • HTML 與 HTTP 不適用於 WAP 架構中 • 因此 • 定義一個新的標記語言 • WML, Wireless Makeup Language • 類似 HTML, 延伸自 XML • 與 scripting language • WMLScript • 類似 Javascript, 延伸自 ECMAScript • 另外，考慮顯示色彩能力的問題 • WBMP, Wireless Bitmap
