Some history • Established mid-1970’s • Revised for the first time 1982 (Two options: Automation/IE-OR) • 1996 Reduce CH’s from 1941 to 132 • 1993 First ABET visit (Next Generation Review) • 2001 Second ABET visit (Next Generation Review) • 2003 Self-assessment • 2004 self-assessment review visit ( Feedback from constituencies was useful for the revision of the program) • 2008 ABET self study report (One year extension of equivalence was granted)

Some more • 2005-2006 Programs under review • 2005 Based on inputs from employers, alumni, faculty (The options became programs ) • Early 2007 Programs approved • Objectives and outcomes were revised • IT was emphasized further • Communication skills was emphasized • Course in design was introduced • Design was infused in some courses • Courses revised • 2007-2009 Further data were collected for the ABET self-study

Data for objectives assessment: • Alumni survey distributed to SE alumni • Employers were approached to fill the objectives assessment and appropriateness survey • IAC gave their assessment of the program objectives in one of the meetings, and through email communication (hey resisted using the forms) • Faculty gave their assessment in the form of objective assessment.
