  3. What is EduCAT? • EduCAT allows educators to create own teaching tools • Promotes novel methods of teaching • Multimedia programming toolset • Component based • Drag-and-drop programming • Can be used stand-alone or over internet

  4. How I used EduCAT? • Objective • - educational • - interactive • - entertaining • Game created based on popular board games • - competition • - prizes & penalties • - timers

  5. What the trainees thought! • Anaesthetic trainees played the game • Feedback on educational value, usability and interest • Game adapted according to feedback • - more educational value • - more frequent questions • - more interactivity incorporated

  6. My conclusion • Novel way of learning • Engages student • Easily adaptable by teacher • Varying types of questions and methods of answering

  7. Future plans • Measure effectiveness by comparing two groups • One to play the game • The other to complete a paper quiz • Both groups tested for recall later
