  4. Means the same as courage Especially in a difficult situation Helps to rise to a challenge and resist the temptation to give up or to give in Examples of fortitude Fortitude

  5. Moderates the way we are attracted to pleasures ‘All things in moderation’ Helps us to practice self denial Examples of everyday temperance Temperance
