  2. Jesus Is Not A Blank Check: • To fill our bellies, John 6:14-15. • Instead, all He offers is salvation, 6:35-41.

  3. Jesus Is Not A Blank Check: • Jesus does not offer to elevate our status among people. • He was not high class, Isaiah 53:2. • He did not come from a high class family, John 7:52. • He did not have high class friends, Matthew 11:5-6.

  4. “Take Up Your Cross.” • Jesus interrupts His prayer to have this conversation, Luke 9:18. • He wants to know who we think He is, Mark 8:31-33. • Will we follow Him in spite of our questions?

  5. Mark 8:34-38 • 8:34 – “If I am to be your Messiah, it will be on My terms, not Yours! • 8:35 – Give it up! • 8:36 – He will save your soul! • 8:38 – He is the Messiah of our eternal souls.
