  4. Why You Need To Build A List Building an email list is essential for long term Internet Marketing success. You might not have built a list in the past because you think that it will take too much time, or that it is too difficult but this isn’t true. Building a list will provide you with a valuable asset. A lot of people are attracted to short term fads in Internet marketing. There are new “shiny objects” appearing on the Warrior Forum and other websites all of the time. The thing is how many of these opportunities can really help you build a long term business? When you build a list, you are building a business that will support you for years to come. People choose affiliate marketing or CPA marketing because they think it is easier. In some ways it is, but with this kind of business you are always at the mercy of those providing the offers. CPA offers can be withdrawn at any time, and a lot of affiliate marketing products lose their appeal quickly so you end up starting all over again. If you choose the affiliate marketing path then you have to create a web site and then find a way to drive traffic to it. You can pay for traffic using PPC (pay per click) advertising or you can try your hand at SEO (search engine optimization) which is getting more and more difficult. There are so many people promoting products from Clickbank with PPC, SEO or video marketing now that the competition is immense. Trying to rank a new website for these products now is very tough, and even videos are difficult. You have to work hard and wait around for your SEO efforts to work before you can earn a single cent. Anything you do in Internet marketing should be adding value. Did you know that people are selling websites that earn regular money for 10-12 times their monthly revenue? Most of these sites have an associated email list, and a high proportion of the revenue is generated through email marketing.

  5. There are always rumours going around in the Internet marketing space, and one that you may have heard is that email marketing is dead. It is not dead, and it never will be. It is not as easy as it used to be and there are some challenges to overcome, but it is very much alive. You may have heard the old sales adage that it takes at least 7 contacts with somebody to make a sale. If you don’t have that person’s email address how will you make contact with them? Hope that they will revisit your website another 6 times? It’s not likely is it? Email is still one of the best ways to communicate with people online, and this will not change for some time. If you use email marketing to build a strong relationship with your list then it will serve you well. Never abuse your list by just bombarding them with offers several times a day. The reason email is so powerful is that we are all conditioned to check our inboxes several times a day. Some people think that receiving an email means that somebody cares about them. Email was one of the first applications developed in the Internet era and it is not going away. People receive too many emails these days, and your job is to stand out from the crowd. You can build trust with your subscribers if you use email in the right way. It is direct marketing, and much more effective than a website. You must build an email list otherwise you will be missing out on the opportunity to engage with people that are interested in your chosen niche. If you use your email list correctly then you will make sales. There are some seasoned Internet marketers that have lists with over a million people on them. Just think about how powerful that is. If they were to promote a product to their list that would earn them $100 in commission for each sale, then they would only need a 0.1% response to make $100,000. Not too bad for just composing and sending one broadcast email! If you are one of those people that believe building a list is too technical and difficult, then this guide will show you that it isn’t.

  6. You do not need technical skills to set this up and if you follow the instructions in this guide step by step then you will have your list building system set up in no time.   7. Building your Own List What Is Your List Building Plan? You need to think through your list building and develop a plan before you get started on the implementation. You need to decide which niche you will operate in, and then set up a sales funnel that you will take your subscribers through. If you don’t have a proper plan then you will not monetize your subscribers in the most optimum way, and you run the risk of losing a lot of your subscribers. You will have to provide value so that they will want to stay with you. Don’t just bombard your subscribers with offers. You will lose them in a heartbeat. What Niche Should You Target? There are so many niches out there. A lot of people will tell you to go for a niche that you are passionate about or have a great deal of knowledge about. This is fine if the niche has the potential for making you money. Some niches are more difficult than others when it comes to gaining subscribers and making sales. Also you have the problem that in some niches there is not a huge supply of products to offer. There is no point building a list if you can’t sell to them. You have to “go where the money is”. One niche that is huge and will always be in demand is the Make Money Online (MMO) niche. There is no confusion on anybody’s part when it comes to understanding making money.

  8. Most people are passionate about money and what it represents to them. Could you get excited about the making money niche? Of course you could! Imagine that you have built up a list of 10,000 subscribers in the MMO niche. All you would need to do is spend a few minutes composing a quality email and send it out using your autoresponder and you could be a lot richer by doing this. A good quality offer that converts well could easily bring you in $3000. Not too shabby for a few minutes work! Don’t listen to those that will tell you that the MMO niche is too competitive and saturated. There is always room for more players and competition should always be regarded as a good thing. The demand will always be there, you just have to be a little bit smarter to get in front of it. You will never be short of products to promote in the MMO niche as they are being launched every day. There is no other niche that compares to it for new products. Later in this guide you will be shown how to choose good products to promote. But first you need to give some serious thought to your sales funnel.

  9. What Is A Sales Funnel? It is simply an automated process that all of your new subscribers will go through. Here is a diagram to help explain it: Traffic Squeeze Page One Time Offer Download Pages •Solo Ads •Facebook Ads •WSO etc •Captures Email Address In Return For An Incentive •Your Product/Service Or Affiliate Offer •Visitor Is Taken To Incentive And OTO Download Pages This is a simple concept and it is easy to set up. You must have this in place before you begin to drive traffic to your opt in or squeeze page. This is not as complicated as it looks and this guide will take you through it step by step. This can be fairly easily outsourced if you don’t want to do it yourself. OK let’s have a look at the individual sales funnel elements starting with... Your Squeeze Page This is just a page that only contains an enticing offer and a box to enter an email address. There are no other links so the visitor will either enter their email and proceed, or they will leave the page. That’s it! When you are building a list you don’t want to offer any more choices. The aim is to get them to leave their email address and proceed through the funnel so you need to make the squeeze page look good and the offer as appealing as possible.

Here is an example of a squeeze page that took just a few minutes to set up: This was created using the WordPress website platform and a free plug in and we will show you how to set this up later. Unless the visitor leaves the page, the only option for them is to enter their email address to receive the special report that is being offered. You do not want to have any other links or distractions on the page. It is all or nothing! These pages convert really well. In order to capture the visitors email address you will need an… Autoresponder An autoresponder is a system that allows you to build a list using an opt-in form that you can place on your squeeze page. Once the email address is entered and the submit button clicked, the autoresponder will store that email address in a specific list that you can send emails to over and over again.

You can choose from two methods to obtain an autoresponder: Autoresponder Service This is where you pay a monthly fee for an autoresponder service from such companies as Aweber, GetResponse, ConvertKit, MailChimp and a host of others. Once your monthly subscription is set up you are then provided with log in details so that you can create your list, opt in form and your email sequence. Hosted Autoresponder You can purchase software that you can install on your web hosting account that will provide the same services as those offered by the autoresponder service providers. This sounds great in theory as you will not have to pay any monthly fees, but there are some drawbacks with this. The first is that you will need some technical knowledge to install this software. This can often be complex. There is likely to be a limit to the number of emails that you can send in any given time period particularly if you are using shared hosting (which most people do). Our advice here is to go with an autoresponder service. Setting up your autoresponder service will be covered later. In order to get people to join your list you will need an… An Incentive People are not going to join your list just because they like your squeeze page design! You need to offer them something valuable for free so that they will trade their precious email address for it. This is very important. People already receive lots of emails on a daily basis. In order to receive your emails they will need to be convinced that you can provide valuable information and expertise that they don’t already have. One of the most common and effective ways to do this is via a free report. This can be a few pages long and the idea here is to provide some value but not give away all of

  12. your secrets. The next level of secrets will be provided in a paid manual that you can use as your one time offer (OTO). You could also offer a secret audio interview in MP3 format or a video that explains a business opportunity that you are affiliated with. Now at this point you may be thinking that you can’t write or you don’t have an interview or a video!” Well the answer is that you can outsource this work. You could use a quality PLR guide like this as an incentive. The reason that most people do not use PLR is because the quality is poor but this report is of the highest quality. You can also use the associated articles as blog posts or syndicate them to drive traffic to your squeeze page. Another important component of your sales funnel is your… The One Time Offer (OTO) Let’s assume that your incentive is about generating free traffic. In this incentive report you show free ways that the reader can generate free traffic for their product or service. You know that the subscriber is interested in generating free traffic otherwise they would have not joined your list. So you want to create a product that you can offer to them for a price that reveals even more ways that they can generate free traffic. This offer is presented to them once they have entered their email address into your squeeze page and clicked on the submit button. They have not received their incentive report yet. The fact that your OTO product is directly related to the incentive offer that they have subscribed for will definitely be of interest to them. The fact that it is an offer that they won’t see again puts pressure on them to buy it before it is too late. A high quality OTO will convert well. Now you may be thinking that if you have gone to all of the trouble of creating a product for a one time offer then you would not want to lose the opportunity of your subscriber buying your product later on if they dismiss the OTO. Well there is a way that this can be done that I have not seen many people do. You base the OTO on price. You can tell your visitor that the product is generally available but the OTO is a great opportunity to purchase it at a price that will never be offered again.

  13. For example if the normal price of your OTO product was $17 then you could offer it at the one time offer price of $9. If the visitor declines the OTO then you can still offer them the product at the normal price of $17 through your incentive report and follow up email sequence. If your product is good and you have convincing copywriting on the sales page you will make sales either way. To complete your sales funnel you will need… Download Pages A download page is where the subscriber can access their free report or OTO purchase. If the visitor declines your OTO then they will be taken to a download page for their free incentive report. If they have purchased your OTO, then the download page should include their purchase and the incentive report. But wait a minute… This is how most people do it. The problem here is that the visitor can enter a fake email address, skip your OTO and then download the incentive. This means that they will get your report without having traded their email address and you will not have the opportunity to send them emails with more offers in the future. Believe me this is real problem and it happens all the time. So how can you protect yourself from this? Well the best way is to tell them that the incentive report link will be sent to them via email. If they enter a false email address then they will not receive it. You can achieve this using a double opt in list building strategy. This means that the visitor has to confirm their email address before they can receive their incentive. If they provide a false email then they will never receive the confirmation link and therefore will never receive your report. Other Internet marketers will tell you that single opt in is best (no requirement for a confirmation email) but this is not a good strategy. If the visitor really wants what you are offering they will not mind confirming their email address. Yes you will lose a few people by doing it this way but at least you will know that all of the subscribers on your list have provided genuine email addresses and that you will be able to send them emails in the future.

  14. So back to the download pages then. You must have a download page for people that purchased your one time offer. For those that decline the offer send them to a page like this: MMO Power Email Confirmation: You Are Just ONE CLICK Away From Generating All The Free Traffic That You Need Dear Traffic Seeker, Shortly, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription to the MMO Power email list which is going to be, in all likelihood, one of the most important decisions that you have ever made! Please also check your Spam email box to see if it has landed there by mistake – it will be from MMO Power. Make sure that if it has ended up there that you mark it as “not spam”. Yes, you will receive this incredible free traffic report once you confirm, and on top of that I will send you more life-changing emails in the subsequent days, with answers to questions regularly asked by people who are looking for ways to generate free traffic. Just be sure that you have included an email that you use and check regularly. Click here and go back and subscribe with a more preferred email. Please note that if you use a fake email address you will not receive this incredible training. I can’t wait to see you inside. The MMO Power Team Does this work? You better believe that it does! You are giving the visitor the chance to subscribe again if they used a false email address. If they used a working email you are prompting them to not only confirm that they want your report, but also to ensure that your email does not end up in their spam folder. A lot of people use Gmail these days, and Google have been sending a lot of email confirmation messages into spam folders or promotions folders. Help your visitor become a long term subscriber as much as you can. It really is worth the extra effort.

  15. One thing that was not included in the sales funnel drawing but is very important is an… Email Follow Up Sequence An email follow up sequence is a series of emails that are automatically sent by your autoresponder once the subscriber has confirmed their email address. The first of these should welcome them to your list, provide the download or access link for their free incentive and promise them that there will be a lot of great stuff to come. When you set up new sales funnels you should create 7 follow up emails. You will set these up in your autoresponder so that the subscriber receives an email from you every day for the first week. The emails should provide more free information and some personal stories of success, so that the subscriber will trust you and create a bond with you. It is important not to fill these emails with offers! In one or two of them you can offer your OTO product for the normal price. If they purchased this at the sales funnel stage then they can ignore this, but if they declined to purchase then they are provided with another opportunity to do so. The main reason why this automated sequence is so important is that the subscriber gets used to receiving emails from you. It does require work but if you just send them the free report email and nothing to follow, they will quickly forget about you and you don’t want that. After the automated email sequence has been sent you can then send “broadcast” emails to them which go to all of the subscribers on your list. Before you start to put your sales funnel in place you will need to have…

  16. The Basics to Look Professional This is a short but very important section. You could try and set up your sales funnel using a free website but it is really worth spending a few dollars to look professional. You need to treat this as a real business otherwise it is destined to fail. This means making an investment in a number of tools that are essential for your success. Fortunately these essential tools are relatively inexpensive. It all starts with a.. A Domain Name There have been examples of people trying to build lists with free web platforms such as Blogger.com and Wordpress.com. It is unknown as to whether these people have had any kind of success with this, but you can bet that a lot of people will never provide their email address on any of these sites. Why? Because it screams CHEAP! If the owners of these lists have a lot of valuable secrets to share with you, then you would have thought that they would have been able to afford their own domain name! You need to buy a domain name.

  17. You can get these from a number of registrars. NameCheap.com is recommended for this. Their service is good and there are always discount coupons available to save money on your purchase. There are lots of websites and videos that will show you how to purchase a domain name and NameCheap.com has their own training on this. Now that you have your domain name you will need… Website Hosting You need to pay for the hosting of your domain name, and this can be done on a monthly basis for around $10 a month. There are many web hosting companies out there, and a very popular choice among Internet marketers is SiteGround. They have excellent support and offer a range of plans to suit all budgets. Their Baby Plan allows you to host unlimited domains (useful for future projects and sales funnels) and provide unlimited disk space and bandwidth. After you have placed your order with SiteGround they will send you an email with your log in details and the DNS servers that you need to point your domain name to. This will look something like this: 1st Nameserver: nsXXX1.siteground.com 2nd Nameserver: nsXXX2.siteground.com You must use this information in your NameCheap account to point the domain name that you just purchased to your SiteGround account. In your NameCheap account find your “domain manager” and look for your new domain. Again there are training videos on youtube.com and namecheap.com to show you how to do this. Now you need a website...

  18. Wordpress Now that your domain name has been successfully linked with your website hosting you will be able to create a website. One of the easiest ways to do this is to use the WordPress blogging platform. WordPress has many benefits, and there is plenty of information available about this on Google and YouTube. WordPress is very easy to install using your web hosting cPanel. With a SiteGround account, log in to your cPanel and look for “Software/Services” towards the bottom of the page. If you have chosen another web hosting company other than SiteGround, they may use different software to install WordPress with a slightly different procedure. Ask the support people for help with this if you need it, or search for a tutorial on YouTube. You’re going to find dozens of videos showing you how to do this. That’s it you now have the basics set up. A domain name, a hosting account and WordPress installed on your domain. Now we can get down to the details of getting your Sales Funnel Set Up.

  19. Getting Your Sales Funnel Set Up OK finally you have arrived at the big moment! You are going to set up your Sales Funnel using WordPress and an autoresponder service. It is a good idea to have your free report and one time offer (OTO) product already created before you set up your funnel. We are going to set up the funnel in the following order: 1. Autoresponder service 2. Squeeze page 3. OTO Page 4. OTO Download Page 5. Free report page 6. Email follow up sequence OK let’s get started… Autoresponder Service and Set Up The screen shots that you will see below are from the Imnica Mail service and will be used throughout this guide. The form building capabilities of Imnica Mail are not as good as Aweber and GetResponse, but Imnica is much cheaper and other than that it does the same job. It is up to you. Once you have signed up for an autoresponder account the first thing that you will want to do is to create a new contact list.

  20. This is pretty easy to do and the process is similar for most of the major autoresponder accounts. Below we’ll go through the setup using the autoresponders: Aweber and Imnica Mail. Aweber With Aweber, once you have logged in, you’ll click on ‘Manage Lists’, and then ‘Create a List’ On the next page, you’ll enter your Company Name and website. Next you’ll enter your name and email address. Notice that the name “MMO Power” has been used rather than a personal name. There is a very good reason for doing this. Your subscribers will get used to receiving emails from “MMO Power” and are more likely to remember the great free gift that you gave them under this name.

  21. And click on ‘Next Step’. On the next page, you’ll describe your List. Enter ‘MMO Power’ as the List Name, and a brief description of the list, see below. On the next screen you’ll set up your confirmation email. Edit the body of the email as in the example below. Once you’ve updated the confirmation email, click on ‘Approve Message and Create List’.

  22. As default, confirmed opt-in is set to on, this is what you want, so keep it as is. You can change this later via ‘List Settings’ if you need to, but for this example, we won’t.

Imnica Mail With Imnica Mail all you do is click on “Create New List” once you have logged in and this screen appears: The list has been named “MMO Power” and the double opt in option has been chosen as explained earlier. Just hit The “CREATE LIST AND EDIT CONFIRMATION EMAIL” button and then “From Scratch” on the next page and this page will appear:

  24. As above, the name “MMO Power” has been used rather than a personal name. There is a very good reason for doing this. Your subscribers will get used to receiving emails from “MMO Power” and are more likely to remember the great free gift that you gave them under this name. When you click on the “Next” button this screen will appear: The HTML and plain text option has been chosen here so that any email account can receive my message and it can be read properly. A standard message has been added in the two boxes and “MMO Power” has been added to the subject line so people can relate to it. On the next page you can send a test message:

  25. Great short and simple! After clicking the “Next” button you will be presented with an overview page for your new list. You need to go to the “Settings” area and under “Behaviors” you need to set your own one time offer landing page. Create a Subscription or Opt-in Form With your list created, you now need to create an opt-in form, this will collect the email address of the visitors you send to your squeeze page. As before, we’ll show you how to set this up with Aweber and Imnica. Aweber With the MMO Power list active, click on ‘Sign Up Forms’ and ‘Create your First Sign Up Form’ When designing the sign up form, you don’t want anything fancy, all you want is the email field and sign up button. Remove everything else as below.

  26. Save the form and go to Step 2. On the next page, you’ll need to give your form a name ‘Squeeze Page Sign Up’ as in our example, and enter your URL as a custom Thank You Page. Save your form and go to Step 3. Here you have a few options. You’llwant to click on ‘I will install my form’.

  27. Then select ‘Raw HTML Version’, and uncheck ‘Include beautiful form styles’. You can ignore the layout. We just want the HTML code for the form so click on “HTML Code” and copy the contents in the box. It is a good idea to save this in a notepad file. OK that’s it for our autoresponder account for the moment. We will come back to it later. The process is similar for Imnica, below are the steps required to set it up. Imnica By setting up the confirmation page, once a visitor has entered their email address and clicked the submit button they will be automatically redirected to your OTO page. We will set this up later in WordPress but you must remember the URL! It is suggested that you use http://yourdomain.com/one-time-offer/ You must save the changes on this page! You can see my example here:

  28. You now want to create your HTML code for your squeeze page so just click on the “CREATE SUBSCRIPTION/UNSUBSCRIPTION FORM” button: As above, you can ignore the layout. We just want the HTML code for the form so click on “HTML Code” and copy the contents in the box. It is a good idea to save this in a notepad file. OK that’s it for our autoresponder account for the moment. We will come back to it later.

  29. Squeeze Page Set up It is now time to build your squeeze page. WordPress is a great system but it isn’t the best for squeeze pages. We are going to need the help of a free plugin. A plugin is an enhancement to the WordPress system and there are many thousands of them available both free and paid. For the free plugin example we need to install a plugin called “WP Lead Plus Free Squeeze Page Creator”. To install this plugin you need to log in to your WordPress dashboard and go to “Plugins” and “Add New”. In the “Search Plugins” box type in WP Lead Plus Free Squeeze Page Creator and press enter on your keyboard and you should arrive at this page: You want to click on the “Install Now” button and confirm that you want to install it. You will then be returned to the active plugins page. On the left hand side you will see “WP Lead Plus” and if you click on this a menu will appear and you want to click on “Create Squeeze Pages”

  30. The first thing that you want to do here is create a page name in the “Page Title” box. This will actually create a page in WordPress. We have entered “MMO Squeeze” (it doesn’t matter what name you use). Then in the bottom right hand corner click on the orange coloured button “Select” and then the “With Opt In” button above. Click the radio button beneath the template you want to select it. You should now have a screen that looks like this:

  31. With the free version of this plug in there is advertising which you can just ignore. It won’t affect the performance of your squeeze page. Once you have selected the template that you want to use the next thing to do is click on the button “Edit This”. This screen will appear: You can now change any of the text on the page and the text on the submit button. You can change the font color and style and remove the links at the bottom of the page. When you have finished editing the page click on the blue “Code” button then the red “Email” button and copy and paste your autoresponder HTML code into the blue box that appears on the left hand side:

  32. A background image has been added and the box dragged to the center. The final page looks like this: This is a great little plugin and you can change all kinds of parameters of the page. A recommended plugin is called “Instabuilder” and costs around $97. You can get similar results from using a specialized WordPress theme called “Optimize Press” which also sells for around $97. Thrive Landing Pages from Thrive Themes is also a very good plugin to consider. Another great plugin is the Divi Builder from Elegant Themes. Creating Your One Time Offer Page Here you will be creating a sales page for your one time offer product. There is a free way to do this but you will get the best results if you use a premium plugin such as Thrive Content Builder or Instabuilder. The free method does have a few limitations.

  33. In order to set up your free OTO sales page you will need to have the following set up on your WordPress site: Theme Setup You will need the “Twenty Fourteen” theme set up and activated. Widgets You will need to remove all of the widgets that are installed in the “Primary Sidebar”. To do this got to your WordPress dashboard and select “Appearance” and then “Widgets”. You can then drag the active widgets from the Primary Sidebar to the “Inactive Widgets” section at the bottom of the page. Exclude Pages Plugin The Exclude Pages plugin needs to be installed. You can do this by going to “Plugins” and “Add New”. Type in “Exclude Pages” and then press enter. Install the plugin and activate it. The reason that we need this is that we can exclude all of our pages appearing on the top menu. We do not want to provide any other distractions on the OTO page. The visitor will only be able to place an order or leave. Once these tasks have been completed and you have created your OTO page it will look something like this:

  34. Now it is not perfect and the black side bar is annoying but it is clear of distractions. The only way to remove the other “clutter” is to create different page layouts and tweak some code which is beyond the scope of this guide. OK let’s make the OTO page. Do you remember that in the autoresponder set up section you were asked you to note down a URL that you had entered into the settings for your OTO page? Here it is: http://yourdomain.com/one-time-offer/ If you did this then that’s great! You need to go to your WordPress dashboard and create a new page. The title of the page is “One Time Offer”. You need to be sure that this is right as the URL of the page will then be the same as the suggested format, and more importantly match what you entered into your autoresponder settings. Now you can start adding the text to your page. You will notice a pre-heading in blue to remind the visitor to confirm their email address. This is important to add. You must treat this as a sales page and use good copywriting skills to explain all of the benefits of your OTO product and convince them to purchase. You should also include images of the product and a buy now button. If you have a verified PayPal account you can create buttons from there for your products. It is the easiest way to get started. If you do not have good copywriting skills then you can outsource the writing of your page to somebody that does have these skills. There are some very good people on the Warrior Forum.

  35. Once you have written your compelling sales copy, be sure to check the “Exclude Page” option as follows: You need to make sure that this is unchecked on ALL of the pages that you have created or will create. It will ensure that the page names do not appear in the top menu and provide a distraction to the visitor. As this is a one-time offer page you need to provide them with an escape rather than just closing the page. Here is an example:

  36. This link will take them to a “Confirmation Pending” page which will encourage them to confirm their email address to receive their free report. All you need to do here is set up another new page and link it to your OTO page. Your page will then look something like this: Creating Your OTO Download Page After your visitor has purchased your OTO they will need to be taken to a download page where they can access the product. This is simple to create but there are a few things to consider with this page: • You want to take every precaution that you can to safeguard against theft. The first step is to use a complex name for the page so that it cannot be easily guessed. Don’t call it “Download” or your product name. • You want to thank your visitor for making the purchase at the top of the page. • You will want to disallow search engine robots from indexing the page so that it cannot be found using clever Google searches. We will cover all of these things now. The first thing to do is to add a new page from your WordPress Dashboard.

  37. Why not try dwldrts1114: Notice that the visitor has been thanked for their purchase. You can also add “Your card will show a charge from PayPal” or similar. They can download the product by clicking on the image. It is recommended to provide the product in PDF format. You need to have uploaded this to your hosting using an FTP client such as “Filezilla”. There are many good videos on YouTube that explain this well. You can now apply the link. Click on the image once to select it. Then click on the link button and add the URL to your OTO PDF. Once your page is published then you want to record the page URL. This is very important as you will need to add this into PayPal when you set up your payment button. After successful payment has been made, PayPal will then automatically redirect the visitor to this page. Your download page is prime real estate and you should never miss an opportunity to sell more, especially as the prospect has just made a purchase and could be hot for another one. You could add a section at the bottom about related offers that might interest the visitor.

  38. OK the last thing that we need to do is to protect this download page from being indexed in Google and the other search engines. To do this you will need to install another plugin called “WP Robots Txt”. Just go to “Plugins” and “Add New” and then search for WP Robots Txt. Once you have found it install and activate it. A robots.txt file tells the search engine robot crawlers not to index certain elements of your site. We need to add a line to this file. Go to “Settings” and “Reading” in your WordPress dashboard. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see “Robot.txt Content”. We now need to add an entry using the page URL. This should not include your domain name just the page name. So in this case the page name was: dwldrts1114 So we just want to use /dwldrts1114/ The actual line we are going to enter is: Disallow: /dwldrts1114/

  39. You can see this added in the screenshot below: All you need to do is then click “Save Changes”. This has worked well for me but is not always fool proof. If you find that your download page is indexed in Google then you can request to have it removed. In order to do that you will need to have a Google Webmaster Tools account and register your site with it. This is all totally free. Then you can go to the link removal page: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals?pli=1 It is really easy to use. Setting Up Your Free Report Download Page Now it is time to create the free report download page. Again we will just use a new page in WordPress for this. There is no need to protect this page like you need to with a purchase page. If you feel strongly about this you can do the same as you did for the OTO download page. This page will be called “Free Traffic Forever”.

  40. As you did with your OTO product, you will need to upload your report to your server using FTP before publishing this page, and add the link to the image. Remember to exclude your page from page listings by un-checking the box. You should thank the visitor for confirming their email address, and at the bottom of the page you can discuss the OTO product and you can provide a link to the normal sales page where it is available for the normal price of $17 instead of the discounted price of $9. If you want to follow this method you will have to create a separate sales page using the copywriting that you used on the OTO page. Email Follow Up Series The final part of your sales funnel is to write and set up a sequence of 7 emails that discusses your free report and also your paid product. Writing emails that get opened and read requires good copywriting skills. In this series of emails you should also be prepared to give away a couple more secrets for free to really get your subscriber to like and trust you. You can outsource the writing of your emails if you want. The first email must contain the link to the download page for the free report. It is also an opportunity to introduce yourself and tell them that the secrets in the free report have provided a lot of success for you. Do not try to sell them anything in this first email. For example: Subject: Your Report On Traffic Hi, Thank you for subscribing to the MMO Power newsletter. You have made a very wise decision joining us as we will reveal many underground tips and techniques to supercharge your Internet marketing business. As promised you will be receiving our fantastic gift just for signing up. The amazing “Free Traffic Forever” report will have you driving lots of traffic to your site in no time. First things first, let me introduce myself. My name is John Doe and I will be your guide through the exiting journey of traffic generation and Internet marketing.

In the second and third emails you can give away two more secrets. You always want to leave a cliff-hanger at the end of the previous email that will encourage them to open the next one when it arrives the next day. You can see an example of this in the first email above. In the fourth email you can gently introduce your paid offer. Make sure that you describe the main benefits and the success that you have had by using the methods described in the product. The fifth and sixth email should be information only but add value.

  42. In the last email you could offer them a special opportunity to buy your paid product for only $12. You will have to set up a special page for this. This method works well. OK once you have your emails written it is time to load them into your autoresponder so that they will be automatically sent out once your subscriber confirms their email address. Head back to your autoresponder. Below we’ll first cover Aweber, then Imnica. Aweber: Under ‘Messages’, click on ‘Campaigns’ then ‘Create Campaign’. Give your campaign a name specific to the offer, and click create. In this case, as we’re giving away ‘Free Traffic Forever’, we’ve called it the same. We want the campaign to start as they subscribe so select this option.

  43. Now, from the left, drag ‘Send a Message’ to the grey box in the middle. Once you’ve dragged that over, click on ‘Create a Message’ on the right, and then ‘Drag & Drop Editor’ Now, simply add your subject line and then copy and paste your first email into the box. I’d suggest adjusting the email size to 14. You don’t want your subscriber to strain their eyes while reading your email.

  44. Once your email is set up, click ‘Save & Exit’.Now your first email is ready. Next, drag the ‘Wait’ box from the left to your campaign area in the middle, as below. You’ll notice the wait interval is set to 1 day (on the right). You can change this as needed, but for now, keep it to 1 day after the previous action. You can now drag another ‘Send Message’ box and drop it after the ‘Wait’ box. Enter the next email, and save. Continue to upload each email separated by a wait element. Once all your emails are uploaded and set up, activate your campaign. Your sales funnel is now complete! Remember to test every part of it by subscribing yourself. You can always come back and tweak an email, or correct a typo if you spot anything.

  45. Imnica So back over to the Imnica Mail account and go to my list overview page and under “List Options” I click on “Auto Responders”. Then on the next page click on “Create New Auto Responder”. With Imnica Mail you have to set up separate auto responders for each day of the follow up series which is a little cumbersome but not too much trouble. With other autoresponder accounts you may be able to set up a follow up series of emails all in one go. Anyway the principles are the same. Here is the next screen:

  46. This has been called “MMO Power 1” because it’s the first of the automated emails. You want it to trigger on subscription and send immediately. What this means is as soon as they confirm their email address this email will be automatically sent to them. Next we click on the “CREATE AUTO RESPONDER AND EDIT EMAIL” button. In the next screen click on “From scratch” and then this screen appears: The “Name” is what will appear as the sender in the recipient’s inbox. It is preferable to use a brand like “MMO Power” rather than your name. They may not remember who John Doe is and ignore the email. Once this is filled out click “NEXT” and you will come to this screen:

  47. Always choose the HTML and plain text option as you want to be sure that your email can be read whatever email client the subscriber is using. You just add your subject and then copy and paste your first email into the boxes. You will need to ensure that the formatting is right for the plain text version. Imnica Mail automatically places an unsubscribe link into the email which is important. If you are using another autoresponder service you will need to check to see if they do this too. Once you are happy with the content click “NEXT” and on the next page you can send a preview email to yourself to check how it looks. It is recommended that you do this as you want your emails to look professional. And that’s it you have just set up your first message! To set up your other messages just follow the same sequence remembering to name them differently and send them a day apart. It is recommended that you use a numbering sequence like 1,2,3,4... as it is easy to lose track. In the “Send” option choose “1 Days later” for the second email which means that it will be sent out automatically 1 day after the subscription has been confirmed. So for your third email you would send 2 Days later and so on until all 7 of your emails are created. Your sales funnel is now complete! Be sure to test every part of it by subscribing yourself. Autoresponder Broadcast Facility One of the best features of an autoresponder service is that you can send an email at any time to some or all of your subscribers. It doesn’t matter how many subscribers you have, your autoresponder service will send your email to all of them (or those that you designate). In Aweber, you simply click on ‘Create a Message’, very similar to creating your autoresponder emails above. To send out a Broadcast, click on ‘Drag & Drop Email Builder’. Create your email, test it, and once you’re happy with the email, send the broadcast.

  48. In Imnica Mailthis is known as a “Campaign” and you can set up these campaigns whenever you like: Once you click “CREATE NEW CAMPAIGN” you will then need to choose the list that you want to send the email too and there are other functions that you can enable too. Then select “From Scratch” and you will be taken to this screen where you can compose your email. First you need to fill in the sending details:

  49. Now hit “Next” and you will be taken to the familiar content screen where you can compose your broadcast email:
