What do we do?Academic • We provide support and training to departments, and oversee the assignment of space throughout the scheduling cycle. • Scheduling cycle occurs twice (2) a year—working on Spring/Fall term of next year during the current Spring/Fall term. • Summer schedule is created by Summer Term: summerterm@unlv.edu

  3. The Scheduling CycleSimplified ROLL A copy/paste of previous term course information.

  4. The Scheduling CycleSimplified ROLL Open Build Departments modify this “pushed” information to meet the current term’s needs.

  5. The Scheduling CycleSimplified ROLL Open Build VP Review This office looks for issues within the schedule that have been previously identified and calls for resolutions from the departments.

  6. The Scheduling CycleSimplified ROLL Open Build Scheduling team runs “clean-up” queries to fix small errors, or remove unnecessary information from the course profile. VP Review Clean-up

  7. The Scheduling CycleSimplified ROLL Open Build R25 scheduling system assigns space for 3 - 6,000+ courses per semester based on capacity and preference. VP Review Optimization Clean-up

  8. The Scheduling CycleSimplified ROLL Open Build LIVE Schedule Students are able to see class offerings and will soon be able to register for the courses. VP Review Optimization Clean-up

What do we do?Special Event • We schedule classroom space for NON-academic meetings • Seminars, Staff/Student Meetings, Review Sessions, or any type of gathering that is not for academic credit • if it *relates* to an academic course, it is a one-time/non-standard meeting. • We reserve GENERAL PURPOSE SPACE • 161 academic classrooms on campus ranging from 16-282 capacity • Barrack Museum, Green Areas, Student Union Meeting/Ballrooms– available through other offices

  10. What do we do? Cont. • Groups must be affiliated with UNLV • Academic Department • Non-Academic (Disability Resource/Academic Success) • Approved Student Organization • SPONSORED by UNLV Department • NON-UNLV affiliated groups • Reserve space through the Summer Term office, works in conjunction with Special Events • Requires contracts and insurance/liability policies

To Reserve Space: • Email the following details to events@unlv.edu: • Title of Event/Purpose • Date(s) • Start and End time(s) • Expected Attendance • Preferred Location (if known—building and/or room) • Department/Organization Name • Individual “manning” the event—if requestor will not be present

Accessing Reserved Space • Rooms are NOT pre-scheduled to be open. • Faculty/Staff have marlock access or can obtain marlock access via the lockshop(online request form through Facilities Management) • Student Organizations • Have staff advisors who can provide room access • Can contact Police Services • “Sponsored” individuals: • Be provided access from sponsoring department • Contact Police Services POLICE SERVICES: 895-3668, option #2

Important Announcements • Events that fall in future terms are HELD until that term has begun • Room access/Individual “In-Charge” information included on PDF confirmations beginning January 1. • SPONSORING Departments are responsible for providing the PDF confirmation to the Individual “In-Charge” • Will need to present copy and ID to gain access—IF utilizing Police Services to access space.
