Major killers included TB, pneumonia, dysentery, and yes ,even malaria. Early Adventists were not immune to these scourges. With the exception of Joseph Bates , they were largely a sickly group. Learn the story of a life changing message that would enable God’s people to stay alive long enough to proclaim the three angels’ messages. Just two months before the Battle of Gettysburg, the bloodiest battle of the Civil War, the SDA Church was formally organized. The first vision given to Ellen White after that organization was her comprehensive health vision. Learn the 10 components that formed the basis for the health teachings of the SDA Church. Includes the video “By Voice and Pen.” Thrill to the story of the Battle Creek Sanitarium and Hospital. You will learn how under the leadership of John Harvey Kellogg, this medical miracle became the most renown health institute of its day. Then weep as you hear how it was totally destroyed by fire, rebuilt, and manipulated away from the Adventist Church The miracle of Loma Linda University Medical Center and the medical findings based on the Adventist Health Study Parallels between the giving of the manna to the children of Israel and the role of healthful living as modern Israel camps on the borders of the Promised Land. Paul writes that the experience of Israel in the wilderness was written especially for those living right before Christ’s second coming. Concludes with a video of Hulda Crooks, the Adventist who amazed the world in 1987 by becoming the oldest American and oldest woman to climb Mt. Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain. Six weeks later she broke her own record as the oldest person to scale Mt. Whitney. Dr. Andress had the privilege of accompanying her on those climbs and has written a book on her life.
