Article3: Chatebooks.com Self-Publishing An Ebook Made Easy If you are reading this article, I am compelled to picture that you want people to read and learn your thoughts and probably you already have some ideas to publish a book. The best and the easiest way to let people know about your work is to go for creating an eBook. Self-publishing is easier than it has ever been before, but still, many newbie authors can be found in a constant dilemma. They usually happen to be confused about how to publish an eBook. But before I introduce you with the steps guiding you to accomplish a successful eBook publishing project, I am expecting that you are already done with your manuscripts. Remember that eBooks are generally shorter than standard print books, so it is advisable to test out your first eBook with an easy 5-15 pages. Later experiment with more, like 30 pages. When you are done with that, the next step would be, Choosing a publishing program: When you are a beginner, a critical first step is to choose the right eBook publishing program for your work. Fortunately, for self-published authors, with the changing times the technology has dramatically opened many doors over the last few years. There are many online publishing platforms available that will let you showcase your work in digital format. Picking an eBook format: An author needs to learn the differences between eBook formats and which format is needed for various digital e-readers, as it is another important aspect of publishing an eBook. There are many formats, for example, the Kindle reader by Amazon uses a unique proprietary format, AZW, which is not compatible with other e-readers on the market such as the Barnes & Noble Nook series. On the other hand, majority eBook stores use EPUB format, which is an open standard for eBooks created by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF). Get an ISBN number: ISBN stands for "International Standard Book Number". It is an exclusive identifier for eBooks, print books, and other media. Each title, edition or different format that is published and made separately available should be identified by a unique ISBN. Also, don't forget to submit a form to copyright your work with the appropriate authorities. Set up a payment system: If you want to sell your work online, you will be required to set up a payment process. Depending on how you intend to sell your eBook and receive payments, there are many solutions available on the market. If you choose to work with established bookstores, the process will be much easier. Test your eBook via eBook reader: In preparation for self-publishing an eBook, you need to download an e- reader application to your PC and test the eBook in EPUB, PDF, or in whatever formats they are before submitting them to any online publisher. Any alignment mistakes or reading difficulties will not be impressive - therefore, you may want to view the eBook and correct any issues before submission. Also, it is recommended to add a Table of Contents to your eBook to make searching and reading chapters easier for others.
