  2. The following questionnaire is for you to answer. Sometimes you get to know yourself better by asking specific questions and writing the answers down on paper. • The reality of your answers may confirm what you know already about yourself, or reveal a deeper knowledge and understanding.

  3. No.1 - List ten words that best describe you (e.g. adjectives, nouns, onomatopoeic words, etc.). • No. 2 - List at least three words that best describe each person in your family. • No.3 - What do you see yourself doing twoyears from now? Ten years from now? Twenty?

  4. No.4 - How do you spend your time after school and on the weekends and holidays? • No.5 - Of all the things that you do in your free time, which do you like the most? the least? • No.6 - Without mentioning specific names, what are the qualities of adults you respect and admire the most? the least? • What are you doing to be more like the adults you thought of in #6? to keep from being like the adults you thought of in #6?

  5. No. 7 - Who is your best friend? What do your friends have in common (other than friendship with you, of course!). • No. 8 - What is your favourite T.V. show? Why? • No. 9 - What magazines, books or other publications (e.g. newspapers) do you enjoy reading regularly?

  6. No. 10 - What is there about you that make your friends like you? • No. 11 - What major goals are you working on right now? • No. 12 - What does friendship mean to you?

  7. No. 13 - What is the best part of life for you? Keep your answer simple. • No. 14 - How would your parents have described you as a child (age 5 to 8)? How would they describe you now? • No. 15 - What were you most proud of as child?

  8. No. 16 - What is your favourite possession? Why? • No. 17 - What is the silliest thing you have ever done? • No. 18 - Did the experience hurt you? Were you able to laugh at yourself, even if only later? Did you learn from it?

  9. No. 19 - What is your all-time favourite movie? Why does it have special meaning for you? • No. 20 - How good of a friend are you? Give an example. • No. 21 - What do you look for the most in a friend (either one you have now or that would like to have)?

  10. No. 22 - If you had to be someone else instead of yourself, whom would you choose? What are your reasons? • No. 23 - What would you change (personality traits, beliefs, etc.) to make yourself a better person? • No. 24 - What is one thing that you would like other people to know about that most don’t? • No. 25 - What is one thing that people think about you that is not true? Does this bother you; and if so, why?

  11. My House Is My Home • Foundation: who or what is my main support • Door: what other people know about me • Window: what other people think about me • Roof: my greatest achievement • Chimney: what I would like my contribution to the world to be • Walls: people who give me extra support

  12. CLOSING EXERCISES • 1.Of all the questions answered, choose a total of four questions to discuss with a classmate. Include in this list the two that you found most difficult, and the two that you found easiest to answer. • 2. When finished discussing the questions, you will be asked to take the answers from all of your questions and compile an “About Me” reflection piece of writing to be passed in to me on Friday, September 4, 2009.
