3. ABOUTUNIVERSITY The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), founded in 1889, is one of the region's leading research institutes devoted to livestock research and development. 5. INFRASTRUCTURE Hostel: The university campus has a hostel to meet the accommodation demands of students. Besides, hostel living is among the most significant parts of college life, serving as the main residence for the majority of the students. Hence, the university takes care to build hostels in such a way that they optimize comfort, give off a homey feel, and encourage efficiency. Library: The National Library of Veterinary Sciences at IVRI has about 250,000 highly specialised reading materials in the form of publications, periodicals, and so on. Every year, the library subscribes to about 125 international publications and approximately 103 Indian periodicals. For the digitization of library activities, the university is utilising the KOHA V.3.8 software. Throughout all operating hours, the library offers E-mail and Internet access to the public via 24 terminals. The library has three reading rooms with AC.
