9. HISTORY Since the Magadh University was facing a lot of problems due to a large number of affiliated colleges, Bihar’s Education Minister proposed to split the said university into two. They initially took this decision in 2015. Moreover, in the same year, the vice-chancellor of Magadh University took a decision to make the university’s office branch stronger. This was done mainly so that students will not have to visit the Bodh Gaya office for every necessity. In conclusion, the Magadh University was bifurcated after the Bihar State Universities Bill got approved. Thereafter, the Patliputra University was established, with Gulab Chand Ram Jaiswal as the vice-chancellor and Girish Kumar Choudhary as the pro-vice-chancellor, in the years 2018.
