ABOUT UNIVERSITY The Government of India in 2016 changed the status of the university from a state university to a central university by the virtue of an act passed in the parliament on May 26, 2016. 6. HISTORY Established as the Imperial Agriculture Research Institute the institute operated in its formation days independence. Since then the University has gone through a sea of changes. The university which was initially established in Bihar Pusa as an Agriculture research institute in 1905 was actually moved to Delhi Pusa because of the devastating Bihar Earthquake.
